Discontinued Superchargers

What is going on that alot of the superchargers for the Lt1 are being discontinued. First lools like Magnuson did it with its 2300 series(im sure due to the 2650) but looks as if they didnt fill in any of the sellers. Now i see whille has dicontinued their and see no updated version.

Whipple is releasing a new system for the 6th gen at some point. My guess is it will be a gen 5 3.0 system being the 3.8 won't fit.

I hope they can get a gen 5 3.0 to fit, just looking at pics on mustangs and silverados that thing looks massive and all the trimming in front of the windshield doesn't look like it will fit much.

Has there been anyone try to put a gen 5 3.0 on a camaro and cut hood/trim?

What was wrong with the 2.9 that they had to scrap it in hopes this would work?

The 3.0 is just the next evolution of the Whipple line. It can move more air and do it more efficiently. Nothing wrong with the 2.9, tons of people banging 1K WHP on it, but with the 2650 out from Maggie I’m sure Whipple knew they had to keep after it.

I wish whipple had kept the 2.9 version in stock while they were developing the 3.0 kit. I checked a few weeks ago and they said they were 90+ days out from releasing the 3.0.

Add A LOT of wait time beyond what was said in my opinion. Back in 2016, after Whipple had announced the 2.9 for the 6th gen, I was interested. Remember talking to a shop in autumn 2016. These guys had already placed an order pretty early for the 2.9, and as #4 in line, they finally got their first one in like March 2017, so around 6 months or so after order. Also see Magnuson with their 2650, they were SAF to ship those out too, just so you know that I understand Whipple is not the only company that has dragged their feet on getting product out.

I still have knowledge at whats going on out there in Cali and the 2300 was not selling well so as stated above they stopped building it. It was a great little blower that hurt a lot of feelings but the 2650 stock is just that much better and with modified Lt1/4s it just bitchin and really hard to beat. I've had both so there ya go. I've heard that porting the 2650 didn't make anymore power either so Magnuson really did their home work on designing the case. One Camaro or C7 can't remember which made of 1225 rwhp plus with the 2650 Maggie. I think the Whipple 3.0 is a pretty wicked blower also and if that blower makes it to the Lt1/4 platform its gonna be a serious contender to whatever is out there.

Magnuson still has their 2300 listed so i placed an order. I am sure i will get an email at some point but never hurts to try. Maybe their is one on a shelf somewhere they can blow dust off of and ship me. Tried supercharges online with a take off plus new install kit and wanted 6,000 plus shipping. Seemed kinda steep given a used unit and no warranty like the new ones.

He said he had a take off unit with new install kit for 5995 plus shipping. When i asked him in sept it was only 5500 shipped which i was willling to pay but think he is to high for the used as it is only a 700 savings for a used unit with no warranty.

For $6K you can pretty much do a new Maggie or Edelbrock 2650 I’d guess. I’d pass too at that price for a used one.

Right, i orginally passed at the 5500 as you could find the maggie 2300 for about 6300-6500 and would have gone new with the little savings. Now i was willing to go to 5500 but then uped it from their saying the install kit has gone up. Not sure but dang expensive kit if it went up 700+ in 6 months.
