When I’m racing should I be at 4000 RPMs and then count down and punch it

Hey guys I’m new here on the Camaro6 Paige just got a 2018 SS and I was wondering what RPMs should I be at when I race 4k in what mood should I be in sport or track

to the forum and congrats on the SS.

For roll-racing at a strip/track, you'll likely want to be in track-mode to prevent wheel spin. Sport mode will let the wheels spin a bit. But that might not matter in an SS on a 50-roll. Paddle to 5k rpm in "M" and than pop it into D as soon as you punch it. Hundreds of vids on youtube.

On an m6 I like to be at 4.5k-5k and in competitive mode(sport then tap TC twice) I use nls when roll racing. I'm sure auto is the same minus nls.

Are you losing because of wheel spin? Stick or auto?

What kind of racing? Roll, Drag, please clarify, cause your post is as clear as mud.

Scat pack stock tires are 245 all seasons so off the line, your SS should hook up first and be gone before their tires are done spinning. If you are already rolling, its a different story. Scat pack makes more HP and torque, not much you can do about that. SS is a track car, not a straight line drag car.

Do a search of the forums for information about the driving modes, there is tons of information.
