followed every direction that came from both you and glen e. I used chemical guys wax stripper to prep. followed by clay bar, (which really didn't need, but did anyway.) keep in mind that its only seen rain 2 times and has 4500 miles on it, Yes its a garage queen). then applied the essence using my porter cable DA buffer (doing it per panel). Followed by a 2 hour in between time. Applied the reload according to the video and directions on the bottle. (no dilution needed it states).
Not sure what else I did wrong or missed any steps.

i have found with all the spray and wipes-polymer and si02-better protection with 2 coats, a couple hours apart. anything more than two yeilds no more protection. autogeek reporting good results with using reload as a drying sgent every 3-4 weekly washes.

Makes good sense. so you think after my next wash I can apply then 2 coats (with the few hour in between time) would be alright? (after just doing it the time before this past wash)

yep.....or spritz before drying once a month....also i think ANY LSP, wax, sealants or even some coatings degrade with some wash solutions....thats why i like an sio2 wash, like carpro ech20 or mckees 37 wash.....

I’ve been using the 80/15/5% distilled/Reload/ech20 as a drying aid. Damn impressive results. Leaves the car looking looking very wet and glossy.

But here's an alternative: a friend of mine for the last three months has been using 'McKees 10 minute paint sealant". It's a wipe on /wipe off like reload, and SI02, but the times that I've seen him, it is getting a better reaction then reload in terms of it being Hydrophobic. He used it after essence.

Hi Glen, yes, I have been reading up on the new Mckees product. I'll be sure to give it a shot after my current easy detailing bottles are done. Yes, collinite 845 is too much work for me lol. Thanks

And one more thought: when a person puts wax on a car, and doesn't get good results, I can understand the frustration a lot more because it's a huge job to put it on and take it back off, then do all the crannies, door sills etc. It's at least two hours to do it right.

but when a sealant works for a couple months, and this is shorter than a wax, but it only takes 10 minutes to put on, I really don't care. Whether it be si02 products like TAC quartzmax, McKees, or reload, or a polymer like crystal seal or Ultima paint guard, they're all so damn easy to put on in 10 15-20 minutes that I don't mind if the protection is a little shorter. I'm getting months out of anything I do, that's garage kept car. I don't care if I have the ultimate in gloss, just looking good as a DD going down the road .Application ease time really is important to me , with what product class I use. As Mike Phillips wrote me once, "if something is easy you'll use it more often, and take better care of your car."

I use Ech20 for rinseless washes and an Ech20/Reload detailer mixture as a drying agent every few washes which helps with gloss and beading. What are you using for washes?

just the two bucket method using Pinnacle diamond car wash with a microfiber dedicated only wash mit. I have never done rinse less for my own reasons. but wash the car probably bi-weekly on a normal basis.

Can you use the Essence/Reload combo as well as the Reload cocktail as a drying agent on top of Xpel? I read somewhere where it was suggested to tape off the edge of the Xpel to prevent wax build up. Has any one found this to be necessary?

Thanks
