BK063 install tip
Just wrapped up the install on the BK063 rear cradle lockout bushings. By far the hardest part of this install is the 8 bullet shaped pins that you need to press into the voids in the stock bushings. I was cursing and using a mallet until I realized I could use a block of wood and my spare jack to push them in.
Car feels great on the test drive but my alignment is slightly off - I'm thinking there's no way to put the rear cradle back exactly where it was before, especially with the BK063 plates in place since they help center it. Probably just live with it for now since my alignment shop is pretty far. Most posts I read went either way on whether or not an alignment is required but I think it definitely is. Recommend it! |

Good tip- I just used the bottom end of the handle of a smallish hammer to improve leverage, but your suggestion would require less harsh language!
Also, I didn't ever get the alignment checked either and am on the 2nd set of tires (Michelin Pilot Sport 4S- great tire IMHO, 300 wear rating, stick when needed and spin when required to) and they are showing no signs of an alignment need. Since then I threw on a set of BMR rear trailing arms just for fun and still haven't worried about an alignment. The car just keeps getting more fun to drive and STILL hasn't attracted any negative attention (if youknowwhatImean)! |

Yeah, the idea that you can just push those dowels/pins in is laughable...
I did something similar. Felt very MacGuyver.

Yes, Macgyverring is what DIY is all about! That's when you get that sense of satisfaction of a job well, but differently, done!
