Black Trim Around Windows

Hey guys, what do you recommend for conditioning the black trim around the driver and passenger windows? I've noticed that I have some area of oxidation? (what it looks like) on that black trim and what to put something on it to address it.

I use the "Nextzett Gummi Pflege Stift" with my rubber trimmings, it helps preserve them very well. Once already oxidated, Adam's VRT helps temporarily, it's going to be a repeated maintenance affair.

You can try some optimum hyper spray polish.
It is safe for plastics and trim and used to clean them. I only use optimum polishes for that reason. I don’t have to tape any trim work so I don’t get it on there and stain it like most other polishes will do.
After that maintain it with the gummi stift

Do you just use that on the interior weatherstrip, or also on the piece at the bottom of the driver and passenger side windows?

Yep, those are the two pieces that are the issue on my car. I may actually just call my local dealer and see if those two pieces can be replaced.

I've been watching a LOT of YouTube on reviews and long time reviews of a lot of these "back to black" type products. It seems most of them are not really worth it, and a couple (that are dye type products) seem better but still after 4-6 months still don't last. If I can get them replaced for a couple hundred bucks I'll just replace them and be done with it. Will call the dealer next week and ask.

if you want a trim restore that will last.
I use Solution Finish. It is a dye that will restore and keep it black for about a year before being reapplied.
Just use gloves as it will dye your hands and follow the directions correctly.
big bottle

1oz this would probably be enough

thanks! Ya that 1oz bottle would be enough to try the two pieces on the bottom of each window. They aren't even that bad, but for me and my obsessive compulsive disorder.. (ha ha), I'll need to do something.

If that works... awesome, if not it's cheap enough I won't care and I can just still then replace them.

Both. I know they're not the same material as the weatherstripping, but this seems to work, no whitish spots so far.

Great, I'll give it a shot as these were already in decline on my 2016 when I got it in late 2017. How often do you apply the Stift to those exterior pieces?

Twice a year, because the plan is four times, once every season, but I'm so forgetful...
