but my 2016 got totalled a couple of weeks ago and I bought a 2019. the 2019 wiring is different in the upper map light area. So I removed the console and tapped the power from the power port on the console. Worked perfect and honestly easier to get your hands in there to do it.

Anyone have a wiring schematic for 2019 models to identify which wire is the switched power for airbag light? As mentioned above the IS NO purple/white wire on 2019.

Finally gave up and lifted the center console (6 bolts). Having done both now, I can say it was 1,000 times easier doing the center console than the overhead. Should have done that to start with.
I now have the detector on switched power. |

On the Map Light: BLACK is GROUND and the WHITE w/Brown Stripe provides the POSITIVE 12V. |

i ended up doing this, too.
i tried at the overhead light, then down at the control box in passenger footwell. the reasonably accessible ones would shut off my detector (uniden R3) when there was wheelspin. the console tap was easy & reliable. quite simply it was just tapping the power outlet (cigarette lighter hole). |
