Are PS4S $600/set better than Nitto G 2's??

I have the 305 Nitto G 2's on the rear of my car, and just blew one out on the way home yesterday. Got almost 20k on the Nittos, and had the OEM 275 GY F1's on the front. Need new shoes all around, and had planned on getting PS4S's.

For some reason, they are out of stock of the PS4S's in all of the western region of the states right now, (had Costco and Discount looking actively for them), but the quote for a set is around $1800.

Nittos are about $1200 installed. They seemed to be plenty grippy and comfortable, and again, I got almost 20k from the rears. I know most here rave re the PS4S, but if they are softer, they would probably have less longevity, so now I'm about to pull the trigger on the Nittos, any reason why I shouldn't?

Forgot to add, I could also get the GY SC F1's for about the same as the Nittos, with the old-production rears and current 285 fronts from Tire Rack. . . The F1's seemed a bit "jolting" in front on bad surfaces, but they lasted the 20k as well. . .

Yes, without a doubt the PS 4S have better grip. Discount will negotiate on their prices. I paid $1,673 total with tax out the door (no certificates) a couple of months ago. I'm running SS 1LE rims so I have 285 fronts and 305 rears.

Thanx Movin', they don't even have the PS4S available in the area, so kinda hard to negotiate, and since I flatted, I need tires now. . .

Yes, that definitely limits your ability to wait or negotiate.

I just ordered and got my rear tires two days ago. 295's fit factory rim, and should be in stock, worst case you could do 285's.

I have 1LE rims, so 305's work and are in stock, its the fronts that are not available on the deal. I just realized the stock rims are RunonFlats, and the F1's are not, so maybe they are softer/stickier? If its between the Nittos and the F1's, not sure which way I should go. . .

The firehawks don't come in the 285/30 305/30 sizes, unfortunately.

Continentals would probably be the next step slightly below the PS4Ss. I'm about to replace my PS4S's soon and may consider the Contis since the Michelins have gone up a lot since I bought mine.

I ended up with the GY SC F1's, nice and sticky so far, but haven't really stretched them out yet. Rubber, especially in the 1LE sizes, is expensive, and consumable, so there is a definite contradiction between performance and longevity. . . I DID get almost 20k miles on the Nitto G2 rears, I can't complain about that. Will be interesting to see how far the GY's will roll. . .

I'm sure the Nitto is a great tire, but I didn't even consider putting anything other than PS4S on my 1LE when the Goodyears needed to be replaced. My C7s had the MPSS and I knew they had grip and longevity (really hard to get both from a tire). I got over 20k miles out of the MPSS and expect to get at least that from the PS4S and they surpass the MPSS in every way, especially in the wet. If it's doable for you to spend the extra money on the 4S, by all means, do it.
