Aluminum Pedal Kit - OEM

I was wondering if anyone here has purchased the aluminum pedal kit from GM (OEM Kit). I received mine, and the box appeared to be sealed from the manufacturer.

The issue/concern that I have is that the brake pedal cover appears to have wear on it, in the form of light scratches throughout the entire aluminum plate.

The accelerator pedal does not have any of those marks.

I reached out to the vendor and they told me "its totally normal and every one is like that" and "its from the manufacturing process".

I find that odd since the accelerator and brake pedal plated are the same material.

Has anyone experienced this? See photos.

Hmmmm...that does not look like a new pedal at all. Sounds like a BS explanation too.

I ordered a manual Sport pedal kit for my 2016 SS and all parts were okay. I left them on it when I did trade in for my used 2017 ZL1. The marks may have been done during the manufacturing process if the box wasn’t opened before you got them.

So it sounds like you're saying you were as did not have any of these scratches on it. Like I said it just seems odd because the other part does not have any marks at all on it and it's the same material and it should be the same manufacturing process

Yeah it does seem strange! See if you can send it back and order another kit! I ordered mine from a dealers parts department.

Matter of fact looking at the pics my clutch pedal had some streaks like the ones on the brake pad. I didn’t think too much about it I guess because you couldn’t see them being under the dash at the floorboard.

Silly question but how do these mount ? Do they mount on top of the pedals with tape/glue or are they bolted on ?

The entire gas pedal assembly is replaced, and the brake pedal face (and clutch if manual) are attached by a piece of rubber wrapped around a piece of metal on the pedal, and are removed from that piece and replaced

WoW... it's a pedal that you stomp on all the time. I just don't get this one.

After one week of use, it would have some scratches on it anyway. When I upgraded mine, they also had some scratches on it
