I do have another question regarding camshaft work on the LT1.
One shop says they need to drop the motor to install the camshaft properly What's the truth behind that?

Not properly, just easier.... while many people have done it without dropping the engine... you'll find shops prefer taking the engine out.

I changed two cams now from the front....

I have 2 packages i'm comparing from different companies.
- CAI, TB, Cam, Headers, install, tune = $8,750 ish That's starting to come in at about $90/hp... does that sound accurate?

I paid:
$1200 for headers and CAI $2600 for cam kit and converter $2500 for intall $700 for tune That got me right around 100 rwhp. Car ran 11.2 in the heat and 2000 DA. |

For me it is a hobby, all the labor =$free. I liked going FBO to heads, cam, base supercharger => forged engine D1X supercharger. I'll tell you straight off my mid level build far exceded any ability to hook that to the ground on any tire less than a drag radial 00 wear...

yep now that I'm retired. I was thinking of going into business something like "your dad's help". I would showup at your house for $50 bucks an hour (I'm cheap and slow)... LOL and do whatever project you wanted me to "help" with. I would not do a project on my own, I would only do projects that I know well: 440 Mopar, 340 Mopar, SB Chevy, Integra, K20 Civic, and Mini S. Could do just about everything. Or B, take the cushy retirement and to Colorado and .....
