After the Totaled Crash of my 1LE
My 2017 1LE was totaled when a Dodge truck was paying no attention to the road ahead and rammed the back of my car while sitting at a red light. Man, I literally cried. But, I found a beautiful Garnet red Camaro 2SS and bought it. I was able to trade the wheels out from my 2017 1LE and they look awesome on the new car, but man, the wheel barrels are hard to clean. Anyone have a simple solution for this problem?

Beautiful SS. I use soap and water but I dont daily my 1LE so its easier to clean. There has to be a safe cleaner for the wheels that you can spray on to clean the barrels. I am interested also......

I've tried wheel cleaners and even pressure washes and, as you said, hand cleaning seems to be the only answer.

Look for a product called "Wheel Woolies". I use them with regular car wash soap after a hand wash in my driveway. They get about 97% of the daily stuff off. If they are really dirty, I use a 4:1 diluted wheel cleaner from Chemical Guys.
If you really want them perfectly clean, best way is to remove the wheels and hand wash the barrels. Then use any kinda wax/sealant to help keep new stuff from sticking. Chemical Guys Jet Seal works well, as does good 'ol Carnauba paste (very thinly applied) |

I used to do it with a shorter brush but kept taking my knuckles off. I recently purchased these two products to clean the barrels and the caliper, so much easier than before:
https://adamspolishes.com/collection...e-wheel-woolie https://adamspolishes.com/collection...-lug-nut-brush I personally use the Eco wheel cleaner (the normal wheel cleaner would probably be too harsh imo) when they start getting bad but soap and water should also do the trick. |

I use Chemical Guys Diablo Wheel and Rim cleaner, I also have a wheel brush that fits inside the spokes, I daily mine and wash it once a week probably. (unless rain is in the forecast)
Having a black car this is a must, takes about a week for all the brake dust to show back up. |

I pull my wheels about every two months and thoroughly clean them out. Mine never sees rain and they still get bad inside.

I got the rubber Camaro factory trunk carpet out of it. Honestly, the adjuster said I could have anything I wanted and about that time, my good friend that buys salvage vehicles decided to buy it. In all honesty, I couldn't take the Recaros out of it. Had it been going to the salvage yard, I would have gotten those.

I use the Wheel Woolies 3 pc kit.
It can get way in there and even helps with cleaning the calipers. If you have a lot of baked on brake dust, try Iron X, it does wonders on brake dust removal. Here's a link for the Woolies And for the Iron X
