According to their web site, their stage 1 with CAI, Katech TB, MSD IM and tune will gain 45HP. Our cars stock (for A8) is ~ 380 - 385 HP at the wheels, add 45HP and that nets ~430HP max at the wheels.

The mods I have should have gotten me closer to 450HP at the wheels.

With tuning: (conservatively)
Roto Fab CAI - 10HP
Ported Soler TB - 5HP
LT's with off road pipes - 30HP
Flex fuel - 20HP

= 450 WHP

Or am I wrong??
Yes! as much as the tuning is critical as are all of the pieces working together in the build!

With our stage 2 naturally aspirated package we made 455 RWHP and 455 RWTQ on 91 with the 10 speed automatic!

We have a video covering the build and our install, will attach the dyno sheet as well!

I have not tracked this car at all yet so I don't know the trap or 1/4 mile numbers. When I do I'll post 'em up.

I understand, but the poster said you were getting those numbers "without" the exhaust, ie your stage 1 setup.

You're making my original point. I have nearly the same mods as your stage 2 PLUS E85 and only showed 419 on the dyno. (it was a Dyno-jet BTW)

It's only been a week, gonna give it longer and at least another fill up then go back for another pull. We'll see. Hopefully a little track time too.

Don't read into what this dyno says versus what another dyno says, they all read differently and like I said you are only 12 horsepower from my dyno with the same mods and my car trapped 5-6 mph more than stock so I know it was making good power.

hp tuners is able to tune the npp now , I had the same thing with way to much noise and a crappy tone . so I tuned mine so that in tour mode it was closed all the time (from the factory) the valves still open on hard throttle even in tour . in sport I have it closed also except on start up and in track its wide open all the time . with that said in tour mode its pretty tame and I have almost 300hp more so you can imagine how bad mine was

FWIW - I am running a LT1, stock manifolds, primary cat deletes and secondaries are gutted on a NPP and it sounds good to me

Bingo, final dyno numbers are USELESS. What matters is the change from baseline. For those who don't understand how useless final dyno numbers really are, consider that we've seen dyno numbers for 'stock' LT1 Camaros listed on this forum ranging from 334rwhp to 443rwhp. With such a huge difference in the readings produced by different dynos, it's quite foolish to put any stock in dyno numbers. Real information would be car baseline and modded both tested on the same dyno, then print both plots on the sheet, and then you can understand the effectiveness of the mods/tuning.

Any opinions on adding cats and/or resonators? Where to add and what ones? I looked up Magnaflow but had to sort through the universal ones. I found SLP and Flowmaster also but have no idea which ones. I like the deep aggressive tone, just need to lower the overall volume a notch or two.

Power I bet is because of the tune. I have the Speed Engineering Headers, hi flow cats, mid pipe, and stock NPP. It's plenty loud and zero drone. I have the module that controls the NPP tuned as well though.

I'd take it to a different tuner. Call Jannetty racing and ask them about the E85 tune issue.

The stainless works NPP doesn’t really have much difference between modes. Try the stock axle back.

A lot of folks here only quantify real results with drag racing. As someone who loathes drag racing, I will never be able to satisfy those people. Thereby, dyno results are all we have to go by.

To the point of your post, it's important to make sure that everything is fine mechanically before getting the car retuned by anyone else. My modification list isn't far off from yours but my numbers sure are. Check and recheck everything that was touched by that shop. Make sure your headers are sealed up, no spark plug wires are cooked, etc., etc.

My mod list is as follows;

Rotofab Dry
PP ported stock throttle body
PP ported MSD
ATI U/D Pulley
Kooks 2" headers without cats
AWE Touring Cat-back
PP 93 octane tune

I ended up making 485whp and 477wtq, on pump 93 using a Dynocom AWD dyno. I'll be getting E85 in my area not too long from now. Brett and I went through almost 20 revisions of my tune to dial it in; to include doing remote dyno tuning. Sometimes, you just have to put your faith in the right people.
