To remove the paddles, you don't have to touch the T50.

Ahhhh, such a free feeling to not have paddles.

Remove air bag.
Remove bezel for the steering wheel controls.
Undo connector.
Remove torx screw.
Slides right out.

Excellent tutorial, was very simple, so your pic is perfect!

So car obviously does not miss them, no CEL, DIC or Main display alerts?

No, computer doesn't care. I also tried manual and it didn't care either when I shifted with the stick.
