PM his guy & see if the Synergy ones are or will be soon available through him. I thought I remembered hearing that all colors would be available at some point soon but not sure. He had the best price on the factory painted ones even including shipping. Local dealers here said they could not understand how he could do this price.

Okay, so here's my problem.. the standard Heritage Grill can be had for about $213...but... I have a Synergy Green Camaro. The cost for a body color matching grill is $530.

Option #1

Buy a gloss black grill as the stock one is black for $262
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=20999488

Option #2

Buy a matte black grill as the stock one is black for $213
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=92208704

Option #3

Hold out and wait until I have an extra $500 to burn on the matched paint
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...r=camarogrngrl

Personally, I'm torn between options 1 and 2....I think the Gloss Black would be a good contrast with the Synergy Green....but the matte black similar to the stock one also goes well...

Thoughts please?

Someone lied to you about the price of a painted Heritage Grill. Check out www.cleancutcreations.com. They have it listed painted to match for a lot less.

I would get it painted locally as well...love the look ever since we put it on our car! So much easier to keep clean as well..

Eh, considering I could get a gloss black match for the IBM Camaro at 275, I don't see how $530 for a Synergy Green is exactly "cheaping out" as you put it.

As far as I know or have been able to inquire about, no one offers a Synergy Green Heritage grill, and every place wants like $150-200 to paint it... hence my problem...

$400 isn't all that much cheaper than $530..and that still doesn't include shipping....still, it's a better deal than the GMpartsdirect is offering. It's just very frustrating that I can find the same parts painted for cheaper elsewhere....and this particular color is a royal PITA....

The upside to the matte black is I can always paint it down the road, but get it for cheap now. The same with the gloss black.....although, black is the only color combo on this car that really "works" to me anyways...

I appreciate everyone's input!!!

I guess I should clarify about that..... the reason I say it looks like crapola is simply it looks cheap compared to the Heritage grill. I would have rather seen some effort put into it....

It's a much better grill than a lot of other cars got....my Grand Prix factory grill was horrendous.....about the worst thing on the car to be honest...

I bought the heritage grill factory painted IBM w/black vent and found that I like the stock grill better because it just fits the Camaro's characteristics better imo.

Here is a picture of my 2011 Camaro with the unpainted heritage grill installed. I think the heritage grill matches up with the lower grill much better than the stock grill. I also have painted gloss black stripes and SLP gloss black wheels.

Hello Everyone,

I wish we could offer Synergy Green for cheaper then we are able to, however unfortunately GM has yet to make a Synergy Green Heritage grill, so we have to have our GM Certified body shop to sand, prep, and paint it.
The price difference is labor and paint. We are making no more on the synergy green then any of the others, I am sorry for the inconvenience, we just thought we would provide a way for our Synergy Green customers to still have the option with GM not releasing them. I can assure you top notch quality when purchasing from us. Let us know if there is any way we can assist you further.

Thanks,
Mike W.

Just an FYI.
Option one in your list will come with a bow tie mounted to the grille which you could remove if you want.
Option two does not come with a bow tie.

I also have a SGM and just ordered a black heritage grille earlier this week. I don't think you can go wrong with black either, it will look great installed.
