Heritage Grill Dilemna

I really, really want a Heritage Grill for my Camaro. I think most of us will agree the stock one looks like crapola compared to the Heritage Grill..

Okay, so here's my problem.. the standard Heritage Grill can be had for about $213...but... I have a Synergy Green Camaro. The cost for a body color matching grill is $530.

Option #1

Buy a gloss black grill as the stock one is black for $262
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=20999488

Option #2

Buy a matte black grill as the stock one is black for $213
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=92208704

Option #3

Hold out and wait until I have an extra $500 to burn on the matched paint
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...r=camarogrngrl

Personally, I'm torn between options 1 and 2....I think the Gloss Black would be a good contrast with the Synergy Green....but the matte black similar to the stock one also goes well...

Thoughts please?

Option 2 FTW.

Use the saved money for another MOD.

Matte Black! Color matched makes the front look less aggressive IMO. Here is mine. I bought a plain one, hit it with a few coats of adhesion promoter and then a few coats of satin black spray paint.

Buy a black one and have it painted locally. Go to a parts or paint store and ask if they know any painters that do private work on the side.

There is vendor on here that paints them. Total cost for grille and painting is a lot less than $500.

don't "cheap out". You get what you pay for.

Grill installed and painted should be about $500.

I like the stock grille, but also like the Heritage grille. I've considered getting a Heritage grille, but color matched on the Summit White, it looks like way too much white. Yes, i know the Pace Car has it on it, but just looks like a frikken storm trooper. I really don't like any of the aftermarket grilles I have seen, none look right. Hence, keeping the stock grille with the big ol' bowtie....

I would go with option 4.......have someone local paint it for you. It's a lot less than buying it painted.

whatever you do...make sure it's got a coat or two of clearcoat on it before you install it. I don't think mine does and it looks like it is starting to fade a little but it just may be my imagination.

Gary, aka: orange10s.c. is a vendor/member here and sells them painted to order for approximately 350. PM him and he will give you a quote. I just had one painted inferno orange and it is perfect.

I'm not sure if Synergy is available or not as i haven't been paying attention to anything but SIM but GM sells painted ones now and Tonkin Chevrolet sells them on here for $323 shipped. A bunch of colors just came available for order and I just ordered mine.

ask them if they are available here.... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142796
