It's the contrast that I really love. My daily driver is a '19 Ford F-350 Platinum. My weekend toy is the '21 Camaro LT1.

The Camaro, even with the skinny LT1 tires, just sticks in the twisties. I sit way down in it. And it's a leg muscle twitch away from extra-legal speeds on any road. I'll never track it (or I'd have bought an SS or 1LE) but it's huge fun up in the hills and canyons. It's an affordable version of the cars I had on posters in my room as a kid in the 80's. Heck, it's faster than most of the supercars from back then.

The F-350, by comparison, feels like a rocking chair sitting on top of a picnic bench. I'd break a hip climbing up into it without the running boards. Great visibility and cabin room, but WAY up there with the satellites. Gobs of torque for towing, but no real speed. I may get it stuck sideways someday in the Suez Canal, and block shipping. But it'll tow my fifth wheel, my house, and most of the rest of the neighborhood if needed.

The Camaro has always felt fast to me for the time I've had it. The fun is in the extremes. Every drive is dramatically different. That makes it a lot of fun.

My 2006 Mustang GT felt very quick off the line even though it was the 4.6.

A lot of people say that car isn't fast but a 2006 GT auto is still very respectable speed and no slouch. 0-60 5.1 range and quarter mile was 13.6. On par with 1960s and 70s muscle cars. The s197 Mustang helped launch the current muscle car era. If you're short on money and can't afford a new SS or GT I would give the S197 4.6 a serious look. get one cheap slap on a super charger and some mods and you're nearly up there with an SS. A lot of people were buying the 2010 GT new for cheap with the 5.0 was coming out and used the savings and bought a super charger and had a faster car than a new Coyote.

I miss my 2006 GT. Ford really hit a home run with that car for that time period.

it had no competition except maybe a gto...which is another poor example of a performance car.

The 3 valve configuration helped.

I came from a C7 Z51 Vette to my ZL1. Was greatly disappointed by the "feel" of the acceleration in the ZL1. Was not as quick as the vette.
Put in a Pedal Commander, use them in all my cars. Have had them in M BMW and AMG Mercedes, now also in my turbo Jeep and wife's 300HP Camry.
It now feels like I thought it would, but rear tires easily break loose. You can change, by bluetooth, the exact acceleration profile you want on the fly from the App on your phone, about 25 different. From snow/ ice/wet road to Holy Crap-HANG ON - Wipe that smile off of your face and quit screaming!!!
Makes the car what I hoped it would be - instant response to all that HP.
Took 15 minutes to install.

Put yourself in the passenger seat of your own car and have someone else you truly trust drive you. You'll have your answer. Being a driver it's just going to feel normal after a bit.

I compared the strong power acceleration of my previous '14 Camaro ZL1 SC V8 VS a '14 Corvette Stingray Z51 C7 V8 N.A. and it felt very similar probably because the Corvette weights less. That's why I didn't have a 2nd thought of replacing my loved ZL1 for the Stingray.
Afterwards I replaced my Corvette C7 for a '16 Camaro SS, both have the same 6.2 V8 engine, the power delivery feels similar.

For me i came from a high revving 4cylinder, everything is double or triple
The power. It’s effortlessly fast but feels more planted the faster you go.

This, I let a coworker drive it and I was blown away by the acceleration. I think you anticipate whats coming as the driver.

I think that I would have a heart attack. My car gives me a rush when I'm behind the wheel.

The "feeling" of "fast" comes from the g force feeling at the initial throttle,.....I remember my L99 "felt" faster than my 2016 in first gear because the L99 auto has a first gear raitio of 4.10!, the 2016 M6 has a first gear ratio of only 2.66......revs higher for sure, but less g-force at initial throttle.
This is crazy but I've noticed when there's a heavy load in the trunk, the car tilts back more on acceleration,..... that tilting back feeling gives that "feels fast " feeling even though the weight in the trunk obviously makes it slower. Some moderate weight in the trunk and a TC controller wil make it "feel" plenty fast at neighborhood legal speeds.

tilting back = butt dyno = "feels fast"

That said, by the time you can rev the thing up, you are way above the speed limit. I kind of enjoy the fact that the Camaro gets going easily even in low RPM.

High RPM works great in cars like my RX-8. I can bounce that thing to 9k RPM and I wouldn't have to worry about losing my car. That said, I wanted to try something different and that's why I got the C7 and now the Camaro.
I also had the same perception after driving a friend's MustangGT PP1.

How does your SS1LE compares in handling performance with your previous C7 Z51?
I also owned a Stingray C7 Z51 AT before my 6th gen Camaro SS MT (non 1LE).

The thing is my Coyote "felt" faster on my butt dyno, mainly launching it snapped more violent. My SS is faster but also a lot smoother too and you don't feel the bumps as much but the speed gets up there faster.

My GT wasn't nearly as a smooth ride. I think that's why the GT felt faster.

I know what you mean, I also had a S197 '11 Mustang GT 5.0 MT 3.73 rear gear Brembo package (that I tracked), and now the 6th gen '16 Camaro SS MT. Both of them are very fun to drive sport cars

Was your 4th Gen stock?

I have both a 4th Gen Z28 and 6th Gen SS and my 6th Gen DEFINITELY felt faster than my stock 4th Gen. So much so that I literally had to throw a cammed LS3 in my 4th Gen in order to justify driving it.
