How many miles were on that build at this point?

That run looked awesome! Was the car NA?

Only 1 season and pistons looked like that.. Did you end up putting it back together like it was with fresh pistons or put in longer sleeves, shorter stroke, or aftermarket block?

IMHO , you should find a sponsor on here that is some what close to you and has experience in building a 416 to suit your needs . It is going to be expensive any way you cut it , so you may as well get it done right by a real pro with a lot of experience and an outstanding reputation.

I've looked at TSP. I may go that route but either way I'm on the fence on if i get a forged 376/377 or 416..

I'm in Canada so dealing with the border makes it more difficult to purchase in the US.

Well going a bit bigger only costs a bit more. More is always better. Those cubes will help generate a good amount more tq and that's definitely what these car's need.

GPI did my 416 stroker. ADM is another excellent option...

I have 2500 miles on mine and 2 track days so far, 500 mike break-in, then GPI sent me out to race!

Thank you for your comments I will pass this on and yes the car is sponsored. It’s a challenge to get a large car like a Camaro to drift properly.
The car is forced induction with a 4ltr whipple with overdrive. It uses Texas Speed for “some” of the setup. Keep in mind this is severe duty most guys won’t experience constant elevated RPMs. IMHO this is to be expected. It’s a gamble but can you stroke?absolutely!
I’d like to add I am not a drift guy but personal preference would be to use a sleeved, iron, or tall deck block in stroked applications.

I have like 15k on my 428, pistons skirts are coated the shortness of the pistons and its special features made for a stroked engine by racetec racetecpistons.com/ best I could find former owner of JE;( largest maker of pistons in the world by far), block clearanced for the connecting rods bolts etc and the sleeves which on a ls3 block extend out of the casting clearanced a little also I believe, I got it from SAG performance/ custom engine supply ; Jerry the machinist on Ebay is how I finally tracked down the engine I wanted, oh and I use Driven racing ls30 oil daily and BR30 for break in.

I expect the stroker to last as long as a stock block but expect some mild piston wear and the difference between a 416-428 stroke so small but, I understand so many considerations back when they first made any LS engine there were people slapping pistons not made for it into them because they had the crank and rods ..... A good way to screw up a good thing; and impatience does not do well with development of the right parts, and BTW I used Molnar rods and crank since they make the best also really being others named stuff..like Callies or etc..... The pistons will "rock" at the very end of the long stroke out , good pistons for strokers vary but should be with a good crown and short skirts and short sides really with reinforced good lands.....

From what I have seen over time depending on your use the 416 ci. will show more wear and burn oil.

Because the stroke pushes the limits of the cylinders, the quality of the work is paramount. If they get built on the loose side you’re gonna have a bad time
