I installed the shifter on turkey day...Went well... The rubber boot gave me a fit, trying to install it back on... There's not alot of room up there, For us big boys... But I got it back on. Ran through the gears... shifter did well.. Started Camaro up, Off we went...shifted through all the gears as well... I did run the rod as far as it would go down though. I will probly go back and raise the shifter rod up some, due to a better comfort leve for mel. Did have some noise around 3200 -3500 RMPS, not really that noticeable. I may try the factory nob as well to see if there's a difference with it as well
I will try to post a VID of the Barton shifter shifting gears... soon. All in all, I like the shifter... It different than the stock shifter... Will just take some time getting use to new shifter...

Thanks, Barton Ind.
GREAT JOB...
now send me my endoresment fee... LMAO...Just kiddin....

HEY GUYS I HAVE 2 QUESTIONS BEFORE I BUY A SHORT THROW BECAUSE THIS WILL BE MY FIRST SHORT THROW. HOW BAD IS THE NOISE, DO THE NOISE COMES FROM THE SHIFTER SHACKING AND DO OTHER SHORT THROW MAKES NOISE ALSO? I'M GETTING READY TO PURCHASE A SHORT THROW AND I HAVE THE BARTON FOR MY FIRST CHOICE.

I have no noise from my shifter at all in any gear or rpm range. (at least that I can hear) I have read a lot of posts on this site they mostly all say the short throws are noisey. it appears that some guys are adding dyno mat under the console to dampen the noise. I have a barton short throw and would recomend it to anybody.

Helped with the Install of JEFFNY09 today. The product is great quality......The install was not as bad as i thought except for that damn rubber boot. One word of advice is watch where everything lands......if it goes into the heatshield, it a chore to dig out. Since it wasnt my car, I didnt drive it but Jeff sways it is unbelievable!. I dod notice some rattle when his hand was on the shifter though. We instralled the pistol grip on his. I wish taht we could have adjusted the grip to sit just above the boot but couldnt figure out who to adjust it lower. Maybe we will take another stab another day.

are you talking about screwing the boot collar up once you tighten the 4 set screws?

Yeah all the set screws on the adapter for the pistol grip need to be tightend up, prior to threading down the pistol grip.
