ZL1 1LE Tires

Had my first track day a few weeks ago and I am going to try a different tire for the street and keep the OEM GoodYears for one more track day.

Going with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S. Heard it might give it a slightly better ride for the street.

Any feedback? I will report back in as I get these on in the morning.

thanks in advance.

I literally just came home from have MPS4's put on a 2nd set of OEM rims.
Initial impressions are favorable. The ride seems better..I didn't mind the GY ride either though.

Havent had a chance to test traction. I will state with great confidence they will do better in the rain though

Having same debate.. PSS vs PS4S.

19's + 295/30 vs 295/35 slightly taller tire = softer ride... ?

This first thing I did with the ZL1LE was put Michelin PS4S tires on it. The GY's are a great track tire once warmed up, but leave a lot to be desired for a street tire. The PS4S is a great all around tire and I am very pleased with my choice.

I have zero glare. Must be how we adjust our seats and our height differences. I didn’t want CF dash btw. It was on the car.

So... For anyone that went with the Michelin P4S, have you had it to a track (road course) by any chance. The OEMs honestly seem to only perform when they are fully warm. Yesterday I took a piece of metal in one of the rears, and am debating on replacing just the pair of rears (they have 2800miles and are running low on tread), or, swapping to P4S's. (I do about 4 HPDEs a year so I'd like something that will be decent there also). I've had the SuperSports on some of my other cars, and they were about 8/10ths that of a SportCup tire.

I do road course and went with PS Cup 2 tires on the track, after I go through the GY's, I'll go to the PS4S for the street.

In 19s there are so many better choices for every day driving with dry grip and wet when on a budget..

I would go with a close out 305 30 19 Kumhos PS91 for 153.00 at tire rack for street and light track or the Kumho V720 focused on more track and giving up some wet traction.. 280.00

305 square setup

If money is nothing and you want track and wet traction the 305s and 325s OLD RE11s or give up a tad of wet for traction for the RE71s for more geared to weekend road course and autocross but 305 only.

Next setup will be 305 kumho V720 front and 355V720 R vipper in rear

I am doing the same. PS4's for the street and the OEM for the track days. I believe you can only get 2 track days with the OEM's. I got one so far.

I also found the best setting for me was Track/Sport Mode, but I forgot how I got it there?? Hint??

So is there some input from someone that has done full track days (Road Course/HPDE) on the OEMS, then did the same on PS4S's. I know the PS4Ss in dry will be superior, but are the PS4Ss 8/10ths the OEMS in Dry or much worse? We know the OEMs are good for dry and once warmed only..

Currently am replacing the rears or, putting PS4Ss on all 4 corners. (Do not have a spare set of wheels at the moment to run dry and wet sets).
