I'm actually pursing this exactly. Placing an order today for Kooks LT 2in with Highflow cats. As I understand it. It will connect to the stock NPP but does require cutting. I assume Kooks provides all the hardware and instructions on where to place the cuts and band clamping it.

Would putting on LT's and removing the 2nd cat while leaving the stock npp exhaust really improve the sound? Plus, you'd actually get some power improvements for the money.

I have a 2018 SS 1LE. I pulled the two-tone exhaust fuse, and that's loud enough for me.

It'll be much louder. Some suggest leaving the stock exhaust like you say because it'll be loud enough. Tune would be best to get the most out of headers.

It will definitely be much louder. Some say it is raspy with the npp stock muffler. I haven’t heard one myself, only read it online. So it could be completely false. Whether or not you plan on leave the cats, no cats, or high flow cats will also make a big difference in sound.

An SS running in tour mode with 2 potatoes stuck in the exhaust pipes sounds better than a Camry.

I keep my car is Sport Mode, in fact I set my exhaust to it as default. If anyone has a problem of it being to loud then I encourage them to contact me directly to discuss the issue at hand at 555-555-5555 or come see me at 123 Elm St. I'll be waiting.

Yes, absolutely. There are videos of that setup around here and they result is good. I'm sure you could probably google something like "2016 Camaro SS long tube NPP exhaust"

I find it funny when folks come on here and tell everyone how the NPP exhaust is too quiet.
Well...I'm glad you feel that way. I don't. I'm happy with the NPP exhaust. I'm also happy that I can be relatively quiet, or relatively loud. I've scared the crap out of friends when cold starting and also when hammering the throttle when passing next to them on the road. Don't tell me it's not loud enough. Its all personal preference. I can love a loud muscle car sound, but it doesn't mean I want that all the time. You just like it louder than I do It was pretty widely agreed that the 2016 SS Camaro had one of the best and most aggressive sounding exhausts from the factory available for a domestic automaker.

I really feel that this is very fine exhaust. I know that it bellows when I am at the track and punch it down the front straight. Enough so that people know that it is me coming down the track. At home, with 3 houses very near to mine with as many as 6 young kids in them, I think it is my duty as a good citizen and neighbor to be mindful of their rights, too. I am sure that their rights would entitle them to file a formal complaint, for loud noise, if I chose to be inconsiderate an inordinate amount of the time.

I am shocked my neighbors put up with my old 67 Pontiac. Borla Sportsman. They basically just give you something to point at, "look, it does have mufflers", but they don't really do anything. I knew it was too loud when I first heard it, and especially when I startled a guy on a Harley. When I had it on a Dyno people were just wondering in wondering in the shop from around the business wondering what the ____ the sound was. I was constantly apologizing to neighbors, but they were cool with it. I think I used up any good will then. The NPP is great for me.
https://youtu.be/Xt_-wAXVcDM Wonder if the guy I sold it to got it fixed

All but two of my neighbors are practically deaf. Of the other two, one has random parties I've said nothing about over the last 10 or so years (even when they had a stray come over and puke in my ditch ) the last has a 454 mud bogging rig piped out straight up through the hood, and thinks my stock setup is too quiet. No one will bat an eye when I'm finished with my new setup next week, consisting of a Solo Performance axleback (basically muffler delete), and deleted secondary cats.
All that being said, I never hated the sound of my stock NPP, it still roars under throttle and has a nice tone. I'm just looking for something in between stock and the longtube/3"/dumped setup I had on my old 4th gen SS...that was pretty obnoxious, my 20 something self loved it.
