Tolerance for Tire size vs OE - traction control, etc

How much difference is too much ? Stock variance front to back is 0.4" - I would make it zero ( square setup ).

Example:

OE Front 26.3 ( 305/30 R19)
285/35 = 26.9 Diff = 0.6"
295/35 = 27.1 Diff = 0.8"

OE Rear 26.7 ( 325/30 R19)
285/35 = 26.9 Diff = 0.2"
295/35 = 27.1 Diff = 0.4"

Side question.. any issues with 27.1" tall tire ?

It’s more about tire compound than OD or width. Width will change things a bit, but to a much lesser degree than compound. The tire OD, although, can directly and indirectly affect TC and stability control; it’s all minuscule in comparison though.

The biggest concern is how much grip changes. Everything is concentrated off of what tire friction is doing.

In regards to a 27.1” tire, there should be no issue. That OD will clear the struts and won’t hit anything out back, either. Speedo will be fine - you won’t notice much change. All dynamic systems will be OK.

285 are on - 11" in back, 10.5" in front. I swear those front wheels are 2 to 3 lbs HEAVIER! Gorilla lugnuts kinka sucks, splines only line up one way so simple activity takes loong time. Time to find M12 style equi distance spacing version as It was royal waste of time trying to find right position to hand tighten and then electric impact and then torque wrench x 20 !
