Dealer damaged my wheel...

My 2023 Camaro SS convertible had a problem with the assembly line; the front bumper lower grill was installed inappropriately.
The Chevrolet dealership said it needs to re-align through front wheels off in order to front bumper removal.
I went to the dealership to pick it up and found a huge scratch on my driver-side front wheel. I have only driven 2800 miles.
I was so so so angry but calmly asked I want to replace the wheel with a new one. However, the dealership service manager said we can only service you repaint the scratched part. Now, they don't accept their responsibility, so I asked for a recorded video in the workplace. They said if they have a responsibility, they can only repaint. I cannot accept the dealership's attitude and solution. What can I do?

The damage looks non-structural, no need to replace the wheel, so if this were my car, I'd get this professionally repaired by a wheel repair shop and send the dealership the invoice. I'd also stay clear of that dealership in the future, you don't want to let them mess with the car after this.

Thank you for your advice. I don't want to go to any service dealership after this, too. If they don't confirm the invoice for the wheel repair, what can I do?

Well, in that case, dealerships really don't like 1-star reviews and being reported to Chevrolet customer service, just saying... The wheel repair shouldn't cost much, this is just one gash, however ugly it looks now, and a professional can bring it back to OEM look so well you won't be able to tell where the chip was.

The dealership has to understand you don't want to let them repair a wheel on your almost new car that they screwed up, which they also didn't own up to. Honestly, if I were them, I'd probably also be glad to have cheap, definite closure and get rid of you, a "picky customer", which would be a win-win for you.

A good service department can be a huge blessing, keep looking.
