Engine light on after Cai install

it makes sense that the engine light comes on after you install a mod to the engine, (I'm guessing) but how to get the light reset on the Camaro?

Disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes that should take care of it.

Make sure that it's not the mass air meter reading incorrectly. Otherwise you will have to purchase one that can handle the increase of airflow

Both of these. Read the code before resetting it!

He means to get an engine code so we can get a better idea of what is setting off your engine light

code should point to the issue. I'm betting it will be a maf sensor code. First, is to make sure it was re-installed correctly, they are directional.

Second would be, if the filter is oiled, that there wasn't too much oil on the filter. This can cause the maf to set the CEL.

Third is to double check the install of the kit. Make certain everything is good and air tight.

That would mean it's a strong MAF sensor which is a good thing, means it should handle the increased flow just fine!

Bubba is right as to what I was referencing. The code that is being thrown may not have anything to do with it being weak or strong so checking to see what code is being thrown can give us a better idea as to why it is coming on.

Chris hits the last bit on the head.

If you have a strong one (which it seems you do) airflow shouldn't be a concern. I would recheck everything and make sure it's all hooked up and connected right. Make sure connections are tight and that the MAF is indeed inserted the right direction. While checking those, try and see if maybe the filter was over oiled? Assuming you used one that wasnt a dry filter. If you think this may be the issue, try removing it and cleaning it carefully with MAF cleaner and letting it sit and dry for a good bit. If that's not an issue or you've done that already, the last thing would be to check the code that is being associated with the CEL if there is still one. If you don't have a code reader, your local Autozone or O'Reillys should be able to check it for you for free. Report back here with that code if that's what it comes to and we will take it from there haha. If not, then you're good to go Which intake did you end up going with?

I put in the K&n typhoon. Thanks for all the input. I'll head up to autozone and try and get an answer on the code.
