They never went away. The 2SS has them with leather inserts to sit on. Chevrolets DO NOT have leather seats. Read their literature, they either call them "leather appointed or leather seating surfaces". They do not say leather interior because they are NOT.

I think i'll start baby bashing thread...because that's just not tolerated on this site, and i wont stand for it anymore.

Actually a few pages back the OP stated he misread a comment.

I've seen the non-RS in person & the SS is light silver - to say it is white-ish silver wouldn't be out of the question.

Finally some useful information on page 5. When my 95 Z28 wouldn't back out of the garage, it was time. Local dealer had just one black SS on the lot and it was a 1SS. I had to have leather and "wanted" gauges, pdim, steering wheel controls, and blue tooth for my phone.

They did the leather locally and I was able to pick the color scheme. The sales people said it was better quality than leather from the factory once they saw it. They worked everything in except the b/t for the phone for just $1,000 extra. Quite a deal imo and I am very happy with my 1SS/RS. Other than this thread, I have never seen 1SS bashing on this forum.

Guess I'll take a close up picture of mine this evening and post it tomorrow. Hopefully the camera doesn't add silver the way it adds 20 lbs.

i agree with ffrcobra. there should only be an SS an choose whatever options you want. i went with the 1ss b/c i didn't want leather seats and felt i could add any ther mods myself cheaper anyway.
