Midwest Dealer - No Markups & Accepting GM Supplier/Employer Discount

I wanted to post about a local dealer that I recently reconnected with after having issues with the closest one to me in St. Louis with my '18 ZL1. You can review the dealership issue on my original post @ https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=604712. The main reason that I started looking for a new dealership is that my order to replace my damaged '18 ZL1 with Elco at Employee pricing has been sitting at 1100 status since 5/2 due to the lack an allocation. They have only received 1 Camaro in since 5/2 which shows me that I was never going to get an allocation in a timely manner.

I wanted to post because you don't find many dealerships accepting GM Supplier/Employee discounts right now let alone not adding markups. I have ordered from Jim Trenary in 2016 but hadn't since then due to being 10 miles further away from me. I called in the middle of July as my order with Elco wasn't moving past 1100. I contacted Rob O'Connell and found out that they are accepting any GM discounts, don't have markups, and were selling a lot of different Camaro models. I quickly placed an order in the middle of July. I am very happy with the order movement with my order status updates below.

1100 - 7/14/22
2000 - 8/14/22
3000 - 8/16/22 TPW 10/3

I am on track to receive the ZL1 hopefully sometime in November.

You can reach out to Rob either at roconnell@jimtrenary.com or via his cell @ 636-433-8414. You can tell Rob that Richard referred you from the Camaro 6 forum. You can also view them @ https://www.jimtrenaryofallon.com/Ve...s?model=Camaro.

This is good info. I've noticed Trenary appears to move a ton of LT1s, and seems to be the highest volume Camaro dealer in general in this area lately. I had stopped at Weber once when I was shopping, and they claimed they were. But Weber seemed kind of snobby and said they don't offer test drives.
I ended up getting mine from Jim Falk across state last October, kind of on impulse. They were also really nice, took supplier and weren't pushy at all for dealer add-ons. But they are out in the boonies and lifted trucks are their niche.

I'm almost a year in and haven't even hit 1300 miles, but I should really get my oil changed. Was planning on taking it to Trenary. Would love to hear any experiences with their service department.

I won't need service for a while but I can post when I do. I won't be going back to Elco. Period.

Elco is where my ZLE has been on order since 1/6/22...

at the time I called every dealer in the St Louis area and no one seemed to think they would be able to get one any time soon. I chose Elco because someone I know had just picked up their 22 ZLE from there....

Allocations are given on previous Camaro order volume. I don't believe you will see any movement as they don't move any Camaros. Check Trenary's website to see what is inbound vs Elco. My order at Elco hasn't moved since 5/2 without an allocation while I received an allocation at Trenary in 30 days.

about 10 years ago I went to ELCO to look at a 2006 GTO, that they had for sale. I called before hand and the sales guy said it was ready for a test drive. I drive there (from Belleville) and the car had been broken into and had glass everywhere on the inside

Stingray chevy in Plant City Florida does no over MSRP orders and they sell tons of vettes and camaros. David Johnson (sales guy) will order one for you for $500 refundable deposit.

I couldn't find that many dealers accepting GM Supplier or Employee pricing right now let along keeping prices held at MSRP. There are very few accepting GM Supplier/Employee so I wanted to let anyone in the Midwest region. They do take orders from customers out of state so it might benefit others who qualify for GM Supplier or Employee discounts but can use them because the dealership won't accept it.

I placed an order with Stingray Chevrolet, salesperson told me side skirts not available on 2023. So I just ordered a 1ss Red Hot manual. Hopefully dual mode exhaust not on constraint. I told him not a deal killer. He said expect a 6 month wait.

My dealer did a great job, not $.01 of extra crap and accepted my GM Legacy, but they can't do phone orders or out of state orders.... If you live in Indiana, they can help you. PM me?

Went in for my first oil change this morning. Service was nice and actually had the awareness to ask me if I wanted them washing my car (complimentary with oil change) assuming I would not, and he was correct I declined.

There were a handful of LT1s in stock. 1 orange, 2 black coupes; 1 blue and 1 black vert. Also a couple more over on the side of the building which I guess were either still waiting to be unwrapped from delivery, or were customer orders. No other trim levels on-hand.

I will hopefully be able to pick my Zl1 up before winter if my TPW holds up. It looks like they have a lot of LT1s either in stock or in transit.
