Off subject, what's with the ads popping up when you enter a sub-forum lately? I thought a full membership was always ad-free except at the top of the screen. So what's going on? Now I gotta close out ads that pop up every time I enter a sub-forum? The hell?? Is anyone else having this issue??

You guys know I really like the Camaro and hate the Mustang fanboys, but I am thoroughly enjoying my GT. I tried shopping for a ZL1 and a GT350, but prices simply rose too much for what I wanted to pay for them. Also heavily considered a C7 with Z51, but again, the prices skyrocketed on them too.

2020 GT Premium with PP, 401A, MT82, Active Exhaust, Safe and Smart package. I am a deal shopper for most part and was able to pick this up new for 39.5k. MSRP for an equivalent 21 is probably 51k. It had basically sat on the lot for a year in a small town.

It makes for a nice daily driver, but could still use some torque down low. Fun to wind out and the exhaust sounds amazing. I took it on a drive to Florida and back, which was 20 hours each way, and it was a very comfortable drive. I did not feel beat up and stayed alert while averaging 26.5mpg.

I did have a QC issue with it which I was very bummed out about. The passenger door would occasionally touch the fender when opening and that caused paint to wear off on the edge of the door. It had to be repainted and the dealership did a great job, but now that is on the record and probably devalued the car from a buyer's standpoint when I decide to sell it.

I drive Mustangs all the time at work. They're both really close with the auto's IMO but the 6 speed cars aren't close. The Camaro is way more fun because of the torque. Under 4k rpm in the mustang there's nobody is home lol

Lack of full power seats in the GT was a joke too. Sold my GT bc of the 2nd gear diesel like grinding sound which got worse over time.

SS in base trim: full power seats, Apple car play, much sportier driving experience, lower stance..etc. And the A10 in the SS is noticeably smoother than the GT. Much prefer my 1SS. Not even close.
Yes! The GT feels like it shifts way too hard under normal driving conditions for me.

Good points. The main reason I want to trade my Mustang in is the lack of torque off the line and the fact I'm tired of the body style. I've been driving a GT since 2014 (14 base manual and 16 premium auto). I would consider a Mach 1 if they were not so overpriced. I did notice a loaded performance pack GT at my local dealership that looks pretty cool in the new antimatter blue color, but they are asking over 53k! Also way too much for a regular stang. I don't care how many options it has. Now if it was supercharged, then maybe...

The 18+ GT with A10 is really a step above any of the previous GTs. And the same goes for the SS with A10 in comparison to the older versions. The A10 really makes a world of a difference with these cars
But the A8s were faster and can be tuned to be much faster where the A10s can't be tuned

Though i agree the A10 is a better transmission and if it could be tuned I'm sure it could be faster.

Only reason I got a GT is bc I got a base manual new for $28k before tax. It was a VIN specific dealer discount. It had 14 mi on it. If the 2nd gear diesel grind didn’t spook me, I would have kept it. Although I like my SS more, I thoroughly enjoyed the base GT manual. And the stock exhaust on the GT is 10/10.

Long term update. After a year of ownership still love it.

So far so good... though need new tires after 10,000 miles.

The car sounds good, and the car is way easier to break loose (on purpose) than the camaro ever was.

The upside to that is, funner and puts a smile on my face every time.... but when it comes to tracking it, the camaro will always be more planted in my opionion. So take it as you will.

I'm still a Camaro Lover at heart, and if I can find a great deal on the last 2023/ 2024 2SS with these rising interest prices i will pull the trigger, and trade it in.

The last time the camaro went extinct in 2002 was the 35th z28 ss.
But would they make a special edition farewell to the gas powered version? LOL 56/57 anniversary edition for 2023/2024?? Should've kept it until 2027 for a 60th anniversary edition IMO... If they bring bit back as an EV... This is the monstrosity awaits under the hood.

This is what the under the hood of the new Lightning and Telsa looks like.

I have had both too, the new GT's are certainly faster than the new Camaros, they also sound better. I tuned my GT to E-85 and it was a rocket, I really think it would run close to my ZL1.
