Current Camaro order and future interest rates

Is anybody else finding it a little concerning with the recent rate increase and another one evidently coming, what the rate will be when your vehicle comes in? It sure seem like the prime rate for excellent credit is heading to the 4.5-5% range.

I managed to squeak in to 3% last month but my GF is a bank branch manager, if that helped, at all. I did start to get concerned about the Fed and interest rates but I seemed to weasel under the radar before they really hit locally.

Around that 3% mark is nice for this period in time......When I bought my 22 Acura RDX A-SPEC 3 month ago (which will go to my wife when the Camaro comes in) I got 2.9% (Through First Community CU), just not looking forward to the 4-6% percent that may be out there at that time when the Camaro comes in. I guess there always is the option to refinance it if the rates drop a year later after purchase.

I have been offered the same right now here in Ontario Canada. My wife works for CIBC so that does help but the regular rate through GM is at 5.48% Locked in until the car comes in.

The 3.48% is only locked for 3months and we all know that it will take longer than that to come in.

Thankfully i always get a lower rate through CIBC.

I would look around at your local credit union. One of the local St. Louis credit unions is offering 1.99% fpr 36 months. 680 score and above. I am looking myself for my inbound ZL1 this week.

Cool Credit Union

Hey guys,

I finally got my 2SS 1LE last Thursday!

Make sure you come into the dealer with another rate you are already comfortable with, or you will get screwed. The average rate for an 800+ FICO without any leverage is a 6.9% at best, my salesman said (referring to GM Financial rates). I was able to get a 4.74% from DCU.org, a credit union that only takes $15 to join. ($5 minimum deposit, $10 donation to an organization they support). The dealer wasn't able to get the 4.74%, but they asked if I would do 4.99% and finance through them to save both of us a headache. I took the 4.99% and called it a day, I had a very hefty down payment so the .25% wasn't really a big deal, but it did save me some time and headache, as well as made the dealer some extra money.

I'd say anything in the 4% to 5% range is not bad for now. Rates will keep going up, so get those camaros soon!

There were no GM programs for the Camaro in my area, so I had to go traditional and best I found was 5.5% a few weeks ago. Not thrilled. I was told to expect rates to continue to climb the rest of the year.

Yeah….I assume here soon the 5-6% is going to be the norm for excellent credit. Credit unions where I live are still at 4-4.5%.
