Another product worth trying to remove rubber on the car from the track is Mother's R3. It's fantastic in my experience.

Not too much happening with the car the past couple months. Just been working too much and just enjoying commuting it back and forth to work. Have another track day scheduled for sept 4th and did a little work to get the car a little more lap capable.
So finding brake pads for this car is kinda tricky. The back brakes are just standard sedan style calipers which don't have many performance options and the best I could find were ebc yellow stuff pads that went in last week. The fronts absolutely drove me nuts! Here the front 4-piston brembos are not the standard SS calipers and it seems the aftermarket hasn't figured it out yet. Here, I have one of the "california compliant" cars with the Corvette C8 z51 calipers. These pads are noticeably bigger than the SS pads but are a rarer size so pad selection is more limited. So, my ebc front pads had to get returned and the stock melted pads are going to have to do. |

Decided to throw my wheel spacers on with the stock 20" all season tires for the winter months. These rims don't have the large recessions on the hub mating surface so the alignment nubs needed to be trimmed off as well as no less than a 25mm (1") spacer on all 4 corners.
Used a dremmel to cut off the nubs but had to switch to an air cut off tool. New 1" hubcentric spacer mounted to the wheel hub. These are the tracks milled out on the stock GM wheels and the reason the stock wheel studs need shortened. |

I'm hoping the rock guards keep the chips down.

Decided to treat myself to an ebay front splitter for Christmas. For $90 online I can't complain other than it didn't come with any instructions but installation was pretty self explanatory. Just wish I could find one with without the wings on the sides.

Lastly, I purchased an mp concepts tow hook for the car but there's no access port to the tow point on the front of the car. Debating on making an access hole or preferably a drop bracket to mount the hook through the lower grill.

Been wanting to do a cold air kit on the car for some time now and surprised at myself for not doing it earlier. Found a cheap Spectre kit advertised for a 16-18 SS on Summit for $175 on clearance. For that price why not try it when a Rotofab is over twice as much. Overall it does what's advertised and increases sound with a noticeable gain in performance on the butt dyno. I have it all bolted on currently but the kit can benefit from having some longer couplings. I have a set of 4" red silicone couplers coming in from amazon to make the setup fit nicer.
Nice box of contents. Chrome gets you home! Had to flare the edges with some pliers to keep the couplings from slipping. (this is why I want longer ones) The pipe itself was surprisingly easy to bend but for the price I'm not complaining about the quality. Air box fits nicely! I need to find some foam insulation to fill in the hole on the back of were the box meets the fiber fender well. All done! Very pleased with it and the car seems to like it even without a tune. |

Just wanted to be the first to jump in and say that your coolant is low…

Threw the new couplings on today after work and it made this kit fit sooo much better. Ended up just using the 45* coupling and had plenty left over for the second coupling for the air box connection. It fits perfect now and super happy for the price I paid for this intake.
I have a surplus of couplings now. lol. Def get rid of the Spectre brand connectors and were starting to deform after being on a few days. |

Threw the summer tires on yesterday. Right now $ is a little tight and I wasn't too happy with the Khumo Ecsta tires I had so took a chance with the Atturo AZ850's. The dodge guys seem to like them and they just started making them in camaro sizes. Went with the 1le sizes except 315-30/20 rears and 285-30/20 up front. So far I really like them and only complaint is they're a little noisey but got over it in the first few miles. They look great on the car and at $300 a pair I can't complain!
