That’s the ticket.... try increasing pump voltage to 15.5V in the tune before buying a BAP, you might not need it.

Are you absolutely certain the low-side is keeping up? I'd be suspicious of a slight low-side pressure dip starving the high-side.

I was told by a Ligenfelter rep that the pump is not a worthwhile upgrade unless you have the proper cam lobe. I was ready to put down $1700 and he actually talked me out of it when I told him I had a stock cam.

BTW - the DW400 pulls 28.1A at 20V, which is why it popped the FPCM fuse. However it flows 602 LPH at 20V, which is extremely impressive.

At 18V and 70 PSU it flows 531 LPH, which is also extremely impressive.

setback

noticed after sitting took forever to fire off (like no check valve although internal documentation lists it as new style with CV) drivability is suffering at 3/4 to WOT and hitting boost it hiccups and stalls till roll out of it and it settles down. immediately when it hiccups it trips DTC PO69E for FSCM. slow roll on throttle it pulls good put when you get about 3/4 in it starts to hesitate and trips MIL. hard throttle like I stated severe hiccup and stall. I contemplating either pulling pump and sending back to DW or just go with inline CV for 4.99$
saw them here on the forum. but I need to know why the hiccup. my tuner states remove BAP before retune for E85. but im wondering is this all in the tube with this pump or is this pump bad from the get.

I’d remove the BAP for a baseline.

Photos of the revised configuration with the longer hose and new routing.

The pump in the photo is an extra and is for sale. $350 plus shipping.

I can build more of these if anyone is interest. The Cadillac ATS-V community is now using this pump modification

FYI I bought one of these setups from Dixie and it was very nicely done.

Car is going into the shop for a bunch of upgrades at once, looking forward to seeing how the new pump performs.

Update: I finally got around to getting the custom “Dixie ZL1” fuel pump installed! Did it as the same time as heads/cam/pistons & rods, and headers. Just fired the car up today after 3 weeks of build time and she started up no problem, the DW400 pump seems to be running well. I have to do some street driving to break in the new motor so I’ll keep an eye on it (HP Tuners plus wideband). We’ll see what this pump can do!

Funny you mention it, there are. I’ve just started WOT tuning over the past couple of days and have had a chance to take a closer look at this pumps performance. My car is pullied very conservative for the build since I’m worried about fuel. I just don’t think this pump has much benefit over the LT4 I’m sorry to say, and probably no advantage over an LT4/voltage booster combo. At 87 lbs/min airflow (about 740 WHP) the pump will not hold 70 psi...it drops to 40 psi during the run. I’m calling for 15.9 volts to the pump and commanding 500 KPA (72.5 psi), so I believe I have it tuned correctly in the ECM/FSCM. And this is pump 93 gas (E10 here in New England), so no real E to speak of.

So, on the positive side, I’m not running a voltage booster (I think boosting the voltage with this pump would likely pop the FSCM fuse) so it’s a simple setup that didn’t cost a lot. And I didn’t lose the factory bucket in the tank, which is a good thing if I ever decide to take it to a road course.

On the negative side, I was hoping for a little more oomph. The pump is supposedly rated for 1000 HP with gasoline (no E). I suppose I can try commanding 40 psi and see if it holds it for a long pull...?
