Welp. Looks like I'm buying a 400 dollar intake for the rowdy sounds.

The standard dyno methods most shops/tuners use is to make the run in whatever gear is 1:1 or close to it. The 1:1 gear for our 6MT is 4th. Not sure which gear that is for the A8 or A10.

Does the tune transfer if it's already been applied to another vin?

It's 6th gear for the A8 and 7th for the A10. The guy's car is a 2019 A10 SS.

In any case, you do need the serial number of the GM performance intake though. GM won't allow the tech to download the tune without it. At least, this was my experience. The SN is included on a sticker on the box it came in, and it will also be on the original printed instructions provided with the kit. Nigel Last edited by Whitespeed; 10-21-2019 at 12:25 PM. |

Whether it's 6th or 7th should be irrelevant so long as all the runs were done in the same gear. The gear used won't change the delta between the run with the stock intake and the performance intake. Now, it is just a sample of one, so it's hard to say if this is typical. Nigel |

On the other hand, I'm having my car dyno'd over the winter to see if it's properly tuned. After driving other 2018 LT1 cars I have a high degree of suspicion that something is amiss with the tune. |
