Cheapest route to fueling 650 rwhp on e85? Stock cam lobe

Talked to a few people just wanting to hear all options

Been debating on setup etc and always changing my mind. Anyway it will likely be a pd of some kind. Maybe a cheap used lt4 setup with porting and pulley could probably hit 650 on E85 with my headers cai and ported 93 Tb. Just looking for an honest reliable 650 rwhp which is as far as the stock pistons like anyways. I think that will be plenty with my raceweight and be enough to get me into the 9s. Cheapest route to 9s is the overall goal I suppose aside from nitrous

So anyway. Cheapest way to fuel 650 rwhp on E85? I’m on stock cam lobe

Thanks guys

Depends on how much install you want to mess with. The alky controls dual nozzle kit is near $1k but then factor in around 20-30 hours of install time if you want it to look oem.

Or you can go LT4 intank pump, high side pump and injectors with the JMS BAP and be able to run a blend of E85 (you will end up in the E40-E60 range).

sounds about right, got a LT4 pump few hundred miles on it, I went much bigger. I'll sell it to you for going rate -75 bucks.. whatever that comes out to.

The prices of LT4 and the smaller kits are dropping like a rock so it would be a good time to get a setup.

Good luck. If you were in Texas, I'd help to put it in too... but then I'd convince you to do a small AFM cam with 38% lobe, no need pull the head, mild beehive or conical single spring...maybe even LS7..... and then we would egg each other on......

Can you do the cam install on the LT1 without pulling the heads? I was under the impression you had to.

if you put in an AFM cam (no need to change the lifters) I don't see why it can't be done. Pulling the heads was actually pretty painless...

Yes that’s what I’m interested in. But it seems it will cost me a first born just for the fueling I need to run full E85. Really want to run full E85 for the cooling benefits, power and cheap cost to fill up vs 93.

And I don’t want to screw with only running e60 etc and having to mix. Screw That

I've looked around since I am going this direction also, albeit I already have a cam, and it looks like the cheapest route is LT4 injectors and hpfp with an auxiliary low side pump like DSX or SMG. You have to plumb it into the tank though and I don't like that but not much choice if you want to keep it under $3000+. The way I suggested using SMG's kit is right at $2000 but not sure if it would work without the fuel lobes on the cam. I know Lingenfelter makes a big bore hpfp that is supposed to be 10% more fuel.

I ran almost a year with 32% lobe, 4" pulley P1 at 8 PSI, cam, heads, headers, LT1 injectors, LT1 pump. I asked Pray if I could start mixing some E85... he said "I don't know why you are NOT already out of fuel!" I think the 32% lobe (now 36% to 388%) makes a HUGE difference on the high side.

I don't know if the LT4 pump can take the bigger 36% to 38?% lobe, but if it can, I would think that is the cheaper route (lobe, LT4 pump, LT4 injectors) and it will let the engine breath. (650 AFM custom cam, 500 pump, 500 injectors) say $1900 all in, you do the labor, $2200 for a AFM delete cam and kit.

vs
#2 Lingenfelter pump, LT4 injectors ($2000) easy labor

vs
LT4 pump, FIC injectors ($4000) easy labor

gut feeling the cam is going to do more than the next two, the middle one could be a stepping stone to "see" if it works...
