While I have seen speeds at 151ish on the 3,300' front straight at NOLA, there is a whole other experience of braking for the 65Mph corner 1. Unless your are driving on a runway or some closed, straight, road, scrubbing off 80-90Mph for a corner is another piece of the equation.

The GT500 having a limiter may point to a transitional stability question or they might be prone to flight just like MB at LeMans.

Yes, going 140 is no problem. The SS makes 140 seem like you are doing 80 on the freeway. But, at Summit Point Main, you go from 140 into a 45MPH corner (turn 1). Trying to dive deeper and deeper into the turn is a real pucker moment.

I remember my dad telling me a story about one of our sales reps. He had a mid 90s ZR-1 that he took out on Road America. First few laps with an instructor then he got to drive. I can't remember what turn it was but they were going like 130 or so and the instructor kept telling him not to get on the brakes till the last possible second. My dad said our friend was white as a ghost after that lap lol.

I've been 180+ quite a few times my friend. But think what you want.

Are you claiming 180 on an air strip/high way pull "closed track" or an actual road course?

It only takes one bump or pothole and a tiny bit of overcorrection at that speed

GT500 Dyno on a DynoJet dyno.

Apparently 705hp STD hp to the rear. Didn't see/hear a torque number. Spicy

A Manual....ah good for you. You gotta do what you enjoy buddy. Even if it is doing it the hard way. Jelena got us throw out. They let us slide on the rules all summer. After summer, We didn’t get back. Til the DA went real negative. She was trapping 140 on her first run. She spun the car out on her second run. And that was the end of our night. The guy in the PA booth said. Tell the lady in the wayyyy to powerful Mustang. To leave immediately. We’ll see ya there next year. But I doubt we’ll race much. I’m not putting a roll bar in.
