Looking for a tire recommendation

I recently dropped an LT4 into my 2016 Camaro SS and as you might expect I have traction problems.

I bought a set of the SS 1LE wheels (the real ones from GM) and a set of EAGLE F1 SUPERCAR G2 tires (285/35-20, 305/35-20). To my surprise the traction is way worse than the stock tires. These tires have to be really hot to grip at all otherwise it's like driving on ice.

So I'm looking for a tire recommendation and would especially like to hear from folks with 600+ horsepower. I almost exclusively drive on the street so the tires need to work reasonably well while cold. I would consider something that grips as good cold as the stock SS tires a success.

I also know that many folks prefer the 30 profile tires to the 35s. The 30s aren't out of the question, but I prefer the 35s for these WV potholes.

You can't just skip over the lt4 part. Please make a thread with vids and pics as for the tires, nt05r or r888 however it is going to be cold soon so make sure they are warm.

"how did you get that lt4?"
I bought a new GM LT4 crate engine. Any GM parts dealer can sell them. I would recommend Pace Performance. Their website sucks but the people behind the business are top notch.

"what are you gonna do with your stock lt1?"
I still have the LT1. I'd like to sell it locally so I don't have to ship it. I'm open to offers. It has 1,325 miles on it.

"did you have to retune or replace your pcm after the new engine?"
There's no need to replace the ECM, but it does need a tune. I went through hell to get it tuned, but it runs awesome now. I'd gladly give the tune file to whoever wants it.

I've attached a couple pics. I wouldn't mind providing advice to anyone seriously considering the swap, but I'm not sure I want to do a whole write-up. There are a lot of details and hundreds of images.

Isn't G2 for the track? I remember having that on my vette and had 0 traction on standard road. I ended up changing it to a street tire.

Yeah. I would never recommend these tires to anyone for the street.

I think they were stock on 2015 ZL1 (and probably others) so I assumed they'd be fine on the street but I was way wrong.

those mid rise lifts are great. did you reuse the stock clutch? stock exhaust manifolds and the rest of the exhaust?

Ive recently been looking for a better alternative for tires as well. I was pointed to the Nitto 555 G2. Gonna give them a shot to see. Nitto sure is proud of them! Lol

What have you heard about them? I was wondering if anyone has tried Michelin super sports or Sport Cup 2s.

Heard theyre pretty good. Michelin is probably the best. But come at a considerable higher cost as well...

I did the Nitto G2's and love them, mine is lowered and I'm running 20x10 rear and 20x9 up front with 275-35's and 295-35's. Perfect and they hook my car at the track. Went to the ls fest and had a 1.78 60'. Since I sell wheels and tires for a living I can pick most anything I want, G2's were my pick and wouldn't look back. I can tell you the Street Comps will not hook your car at all. You may actually have to run a DR on the street. You'll have to move the wiring harness in the drivers side wheel well if you run a 305-35. I tried them in the Street Comp and they were rubbing the wheel well where the harness is located.
