Sounds like it might be a wire harness of some sort that's making things go haywire due to intermittent contact.

Hopefully the dealer can replicate it.

I find this so ironic because your car was held in QC for so long lol.

You’re not the first with a 19 to have an issue. You’re the first with a 19 to post about your issue on these forums, which contrary to popular belief aren’t indicative of the total Camaro ownership pool.

Any issue sucks, especially when it’s a new purchase. Hopefully it can be resolved quickly. Like a previous poster mentioned, even though your car was held in QC for a while; it’s not as though it was driven to check for the issue you’ve encountered. Hope to see you back on the road and showing off that 19 soon!

My dad had a similar issue with his 2014 Silverado (those still had a key ignition). He would be driving along(in some cases even just backing out of the garage), all of a sudden the gauges, DIC, and infotainment system would go dead. He took it back to the dealer like 3 or 4 times and each time they would flash the firmware on the computers and call it good. Finally after it did it again, he talked to the manager and threatened lemon law if it didn't get fixed that time. They ended up replacing the entire instrument cluster and infotainment systems and sent those back to GM for analysis (I guess to see if they needed to do a recall or something).

It shouldn't hurt anything. When drove my car home from the dealer I had both key fobs in my pocket with no problem.

So I learned a lesson in all this the hard way...do not leave the vehicle running and leave the vehicle with the key fob in your pocket. It causes the fob to lose communication. Lesson learned and helpful hint for everyone.
Eh I doubt this is the problem. Not that I condone leaving your SS running while going into the gas station (Car thieves prey on vehicles that are left running at fuel stations, its one of the leading methods to steal vehicles, as soon as the owner is out of sight they make their move and GONE. Happens very fast and very easily. ALWAYS disengage the motor and keep your key with you.)

I have left my car running while running into my house to get stuff many times, never had an issue.

You have an electrical issue. Since it is intermittent you seriously need to get as much evidence as possible because GM WILL fight you over it if they can't replicate it while its at the shop. Take pictures and videos while its happening and bring it to the shop.

Very ironic. Dealer updated me around 4pm. They are looking for a broken or loose wire. Still not located, but working diligently to find the culprit. At least they aren't just taking the easy way out and hoping a re-flash will be a quick fix. Everything was acting up when I drove it to the dealer this morning and after I parked it, so they know exactly what is going on. I had to use the waze app on my phone as my speedometer on my way over lol. No guesswork on what the issues are. They even gave me a new Silverado to drive as a courtesy vehicle. Very nice of them.... They know how excited I was to get my car, and they know how disappointed I am that it's having an issue at 1100 miles. Find a good dealer, they are out there!!

An intermittent electrical issue is sometimes a nightmare to troubleshoot. It's not as if the people working at an auto shop are electricians. They can do high-level diagnostics for battery and alternator health, look for visible damage, and replace things at random in hopes of fixing it, but it's not exactly like they will break out a schematic of all the electrical subsystems and test every inch with a multimeter.

Good luck. Hopefully this doesn't end up becoming a lemon, but at least this is happening under warranty. If you had to pay them per hour, something like this can turn into a money pit.

I’m thinking you’ll be OK since the dealer is able to see the problem and it’s very obvious. the small little electrical gremlins that come and go or squeak or a rattle they are a nightmare

Latest update....GM called my dealer yesterday and they will not have a harness until Wed. 10-31. One has to be pulled from assembly line due to no parts being available yet for the'19's. Assuming because of the change in electronic options/equipment compared to 16-18 models, the harnesses are different. More to come....

That's good... hope that takes care of it for good.

I actually had an interesting issue from day one. The rockers on my 1LE are gloss and they should be satin like the rear valance and front splitter. Will be getting it swapped out soon.

Yeah, I saw this issue mentioned in a different thread. I believe you were not the only one from what I remember....
