PLANNING MODS...

Hey There...

Im still breaking in my ZLE and while I slowly rack up the miles, and follow the process, i wanted some feedback on a mild build plan.

WANT: More Noise + More Reliable Power.

POTENTIAL PLAN A: Rotofab + AWE Touring catback + E85 FlexFuel Kit + ATI Overdrive Damper.

QUESTION.1: How much am I leaving on the table by hold on Long Tubes? I dont want the car to be too loud.

QUESTION.2: What can I expect with PLAN.A RWHP?

QUESTION.3: What else should be on my radar? Catch Can? Plugs? Ported TB? Kong SC?

Thanks in Advance

You can count on not being able to smog the car here in our great state of California with those mods

PPF and then track time. Once you get good, you'll know exactly where the car falls short.

Or bolt on a bunch of shit to make 800 RWHP and have the driving skills of a potato.

Just from what I've been reading you may not be able to use a higher E%, if you do the pulley. You may end up running out of fuel but just have to watch it and the more mods you add the lesser E you will be abler to run unless you do a cam or add to the stock fueling. I'm not expert or anything by any means.

+3 on smog…

RFBG, 103 TB, LTs and E’ can get you well into the 600s and not be a bug deal to be reversible when it’s time to smog. And - you won’t be adding more hear with boost. This is a good starting point, IMO.

Those mods require a tune and a tune is an automatic fail here in CA now. Makes me sick.

I understand... can't you just tune back to stock every 5 years?

No, from what I understand once you tune, you've essentially cracked the oem pcm.

And its every 2 years after the first 5 years. I can't recall off the top of my head but my older cars are every 2 years.

There's a recent very long thread on reliable power gains for a ZL1 in this forum - it was active a few weeks ago. Suggest you dig that up as it might answer many of your questions.
