Get which ever one that you already have batteries for. I have the makita one and have been very happy with it. I keep it on low setting as it has 900+Tq rating. It busts the lugs off anything with ease including my diesel truck.

you break your lugs free with your torque wrench? Seems like a great way to toss the calibration out the window.

I have a 24" breaker bar for this purpose—not doing wheel changes frequently enough to justify an impact gun, and this is much more gentle on the lugs.

I would recommend getting an impact with enough power to remove lugs without a breaker bar.

I use the same one and that is the exact purpose i bought it for, to do lug nuts quicker without the hassle of the air impact wrench air hose and the compressor. Also since its 3 speed it works like a charm for smaller jobs in the car too using speed 1 for the intake clamps and such.

I believe the max torque strength is 350 or 450 ft lbs which is more than enough.

Hmm, I haven’t really though about it. Why is that? It clicks when I reach my preset. When I’m loosening I set it a bit higher and it does not click. Why would it mess with the calibration? I have a simple mechanical unit with the twist dial on the bottom.

Not using the torque wrench to remove anything has been a consistent practice for me, picked up from my father who managed a machinist and maintenance shop. From a practical standpoint, I want the torque wrench to stay in spec for the mission critical needs it is used for. So I don't question the cost of my breaker bar for eliminating any unnecessary usage of the torque wrench when it comes to lug nuts...

I have one of those too and it rocks. They have a kit they sell with that wrench and a tire inflator and a USB charger. Perfect track day kit.
I added a drill and an impact driver for woodworking, and everything uses the same batteries.

Guess who used to use a torque wrench to loosen his lugs on his 1LE and broke his torque wrench? I now have a 25" breaker bar for loosening and a new torque wrench for tightening. For some reason the lugs must have tightened up from heat cycles at the track and I was having a hell of a time loosening them. Snapped my torque wrench and that was that, I went and bought a retractable breaker bar for the track and a regular one for the garage.
