I love the 3r on track I use SC3 on the street. I was thinking if there was any other tire that can compare with the 3r for our heavy cars. Really don't want to go 18 bit it's it's cheaper to get scrups and better them I guess I'm going to have to get another set.

That is saying a lot, because R7s are fast as hell. We will see, soon. I can’t wait to try the G3Rs, mid month.
OK well you can run GY3R's on the street because they are DOT tire BUT they certainly ARE NOT street tires. On my ZL1 1LE, anything over 45 MPH on a WET street and you were just asking for an accident. GM SHOULD NEVER have Offered them up on a production car WITHOUT the potential owner signing a waiver that they understood and were willing to accept the risks associated with running that tire on the street. Those tires are DEADLY on the street. That tire was designed for track use ONLY and GM knows that and didnt properly disclose that. The GM test tracks have skidpads where the do tire testing in the DRY and the WET. I wonder what the results were in WET testing and what exactly the GM executives were told in regards to this. "YEAH these tires and can easily pull over 1G in a lateral test on DRY payment but god forbid they ever see the slightest bit of water during this exercise!"

There was very little concern for driver safety in this particular instance on GM's part but they certainly did come up with a wonderful track set up using the 3R tires. I would HATE to think of an inexperienced driver in the rain with a ZL1 1LE and 3R tires. I certainly would not want my son or daughter in one. My ZL1 1LE was purchased in Florida and driven back home to TEXAS in the rain most of the way and that was a MISERABLE experience. In the THREE months I had that car, I bought TWO sets of 3R tires and I DID NOT do any real track time. The tires lasted about 1500 miles at a cost of about 2000 dollars each time. After I got it back home, I NEVER drove the car in the rain again.

I have run RR's and they are most definitely not fast than 3R's. They had suboptimal handling characteristics and completely changed how the car responded to steering input. The ZLE is beautifully set up and balanced on the 3R's, running the RR's threw off that balance. I was about 2-4 seconds slower with the RR's than stock sized 3r's. However, the RR remained a consistent 2-4 seconds slower for A LOT longer than the 3R's would have lasted. Rather than 5-8 heat cycles out of front G3R's I could have probably gotten 16 out of front RR's.

With the new NASA changes - expect a lot more setup updates to make RRs work. We can add HUGE power now and run RR.s

Well....I ordered a set. I have a sponsorship and they had a last minute deal was too good to pass up. I ordered a set of 305/35/18s. This way I can get a feel for the 18s before I order multiple sets of scrubs.
