Question Michelin All-Season 4ZP on the track

I bought a 2020 1LE with 10,000 miles. The dealer had replaced the tires with Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4ZP’s. Have any of you run them, and if so, what is your opinion of them? Being the least sticky of the Pilot Sports is a concern.

OK tire for DD street use. You said "track", terrible choice for that use.

Thanks. I edited my statement and forgot to add back that I wanted to track the car. I needed someone to tell me that. This will be my first track day and wasn’t sure if I wanted to buy an extra set of wheels & tires. I’m going to keep looking on this site and hopefully I’ll luck up on a set of tires & wheels that I can afford to switch out for the track. Thanks for setting me straight.

You're going to want an ultra summer tire like what is OE on the 1LE, the Goodyear F1 SuperCar3. Being in Florida you may not even need an A/S depending on the fall/winter air temps in your area.

That was a terrible tire to put on a 1LE whether it's tracked or not.

It was at a Volvo dealer. Car came with an Argyle sweater vest! They didn’t know any better, wish they would have at least put some PS 4’s on it.

Those tires are GM OEM for the C8 without the Z51 package. I wouldn’t call them terrible tires. They are very good performance for all year around, run flats and can even handle light snow.

I wonder if the corvette gets a GM spec version

i had the regular michelin ps4s and they were decent on track but the goodyear supercar3 is way better on track about 2-3 seconds im sure you could use them on track but you would probably destroy them in one or two track days at most...

I've run the 4S on a wet/dry track and also completley dry on a cold day and they weren't bad....when they got hot however, they are very greasy....

If you can find a set of takeoff Goodyear SC3s, they make a great track tire. They will take heat and not fall off in grip very much, and they wear pretty well and have great handling characteristics. There are faster tires, but that only really matters if you're in some kind of competition. Oh, and they aren't expensive.

Reviving this thread, I was seeing if you kept these tires?

Time is approaching to change out my rears and figured I'll swap all my tires to a different brand. I did move to Florida so the All season is probably not appropriate anymore but run flats seem appealing.

How come, are gators jumping out and chomping at the tires ?

Cringy jokes aside, I personally don't think runflats are worth the massive compromise, unless you drive in the desert or out of AAA/insurance tow range.

I agree Run flats aren't worth the compromise unless you're in a deeply rural area, mid-montana etc.
