Distance from to open roof using fob?

Hi all,
I would just like to start by saying how much I love my new 2SS convertible. What an amazing car! But I have a question about using the FOB to open the roof. Mine works, but when I try to do it from a distance, say 30 feet even, it will start then stop part way and I have to start the process all over(hit unlock then open). It may take 4 tries before the top gets all the way down. By this time I have walked to the car. So I’m wondering if any knows the distance needed for the car to get a good signal or if maybe the FOB is acting up. I’m sure I’m holding the button dow tightly the entire time. Thanks I’m advance for your thoughts.

Yep, that’s going to happen more often than not. Do yourself a favor and review the content in this link : https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=584102

I’d highly recommend buying the module, it just makes operating the top UP and down so much easier.

As mentioned... OEM fob use for opening of the roof is a complete waste of time. I may have been able to get the roof to cycle fully open "on the first try" twice in two summers. The module from Mods4Cars can simplify this by completely removing the need to hold the buttons down and it will work correctly from quite a distance as a result.

Hold the fob under your jaw for more range.

What does that do? And how?

The magic of Google!

Hold it under your chin and open your mouth. According to radio engineer Tim Pozar, you're essentially turning your skull into an antenna. The fluids in your head make it a good enough conductor to actually increase the range of your key fob.

Just don't do this in a buggy area since you'll be standing / walking with your mouth open for a while.

I do this with my mouth closed but my teeth not contacting each other. Looks like I just got a mouthful of spoiled milk, but avoids swallowing bugs.
