One last thing

Doubtful, but I'll say it's the last thing.

I suspect the reason for crimping the washer is for ease of assembly. It is a royal PIA to remove. So, you'll have to make a choice to reuse the washers as is or plan to get the old one off. I used a pair of side cutters and then twisted with needle nose pliers to remove. Everything is slippery from the brake fluid so it takes some time. Keep an eye on the amount of brake fluid in the reservoir so you don't get air in the system.

If you used the J57 vented pistons on the J56 calipers, I could see how they would stick out farther as pictured.

If you have a stock J56 front piston handy, or someone have a J6M SS 1LE front out and about, measure it to see if it's 30mm height. As FYI, all the big fronts (including the carbon ceramics) mentioned use the same material and same PN outer dust seal boot kit.
Confirmed: Front J56 and J6M are 30mm height with bottom to dust boot lower machined edge right about the same (22.6 vs. 22.2mm). So, for vented pistons in the J6M front caliper, use the J56 23242510 kit. As mentioned, use the 19207043 J57 kit for vented pistons into a J6H front caliper.

I received my 23242510 pistons. Like you said very poorly packaged. Basically loose in a plastic bag sitting on a plastic tray and each bag had had 1 piston that had came out of the protective wrap. One of the pistons has a nick in it. Does this make it bad?

Measure to top of pressure seal in caliper. If the nick is above it, it won’t do anything. If at or below, I’d smooth it out. Might need to smooth it anyways if it catches on the bore.

Will the vented insert pull out of the piston?

I pulled on one and it didn't move.

I went to the dealer and had them get another set and then I made 2 good sets out of the 3.
IMO if the damage is where the seal can ride, don't use it. If above or below, no problem to knock off the high spot so it doesn't catch or scratch the bore.

C&R Oil Cooler

Thx to travislambert for working with C&R getting this done. LSA has a thread here:
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=583742
Post 14 has the temp data he gathered, before and after.

It was a straight forward install. The fit and construction of the C&R bits were superb.
I used the filling adapter from DMS to refill the SC system. I made a fused jumper to power the SC pump so the air would 'burp' out. A rule of thumb, if you hear the pump running, there is still air in the system.

Fire Extinguisher Mount

I put in the Brey-Krause fire extinguisher mount because an FE is required to participate in The BBORR. I chose not use their hardware & used some nuts/bolts that I had.
DIY here
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=587907

The FE is ordered and I'll mount it when it comes in.

Straight forward and something I hope to never use.

I found this while looking at TSBs. Drain and fill is the recommendation for transmission service.

You’re welcome
It’s across all GM vehicles, automatic and manual transmissions. I’m glad I found it, I’d planned to do a full flush at the next service.

Nice Thread and very informative. What I see, the most important that I learnt is that you track you car very frequently you did not touched the suspension, just improving the reliability of the car. The car is perfect from factory, there is not need of DSSV dampers o DSC controller unless you run at a very competitive level.

Do you have in mind any aero modification?

Keep posting good ideas
