Strange coolant leak

Checking under the hood today and I noticed my coolant surge tank upper is low and the bottom completely dry. Upon further investigation the pulley above the alternator had a rust color liquid inside it. I'm assuming its the missing coolant. The car isn't overheating and I smell no coolant. Anyone had this happen? I really don't want to take it to the dealer but I don't think I have a choice. Anyone recommend a good dealer in the Houston area that will not screw up my car?

That pulley is part of your water pump. How many miles on the car?

That’s your water pump pulley.

My guess is seepage from the weep hole.

Take it in.

Only 7398 miles.

Anyone recommend a Dealer around Houston?

So I'm going to take the car to the dealer Saturday morning, hopefully the water pump will not grenade on the way.

So my question is what does GM provide as a rental car for a ZL1 customer?

Another camaro, a vette, a chevette? I would think something similar correct?

you get what you get...depends upon the dealer. We had a Traverse with a problem and the dealer provided another Traverse without question.

You might just get a ride back home in the shuttle service they have at the dealership! That’s my usual experience over the years with dealerships. The excuse is that we don’t have any rentals available now. The dealership will give you what they have and no it probably won’t be another ZL1 or Corvette. You might get a Sonic or something else but it’s better than walking or doing without.

When the XM radio in my 2014 GMC Acadia grenaded, the dealer gave me an Impala as a loaner.

Yea this is always the case, you have to fight for a loaner car. I just have them drive me home and drive my other car but you will need to be prepared to fight for a loaner. FYI, in the warranty paperwork for the car, there is a snippet indicating that a loaner vehicle "shall be provided" for warranty work. The word shall is not always interpreted as "will" and it mostly is interpreted as "if available"

Where are you taking it?
Did you purchase the car there? It's been my experience that you stand a better chance with a loaner if serviced at the dealer you purchased it from.

That said, for warranty work, I prefer Parkway in Tomball.......where I bought it.
