Doesn't take to long to get stopped, thrown in jail and your car impounded either.

You have an FD? We've chatted before but I never heard you say that. I had the last FD model made man (2002 Spirit R), and the 678th to the last FD ever made (0822 of 1500). I loved that car. She was my girl. She made me look so good because she was so balanced and light. I still miss her. But I didn't miss all the trips to mazda to warranty repair work. Had her up to 406 horses with warranty (2 year extended warranty actually). Always had to pull the mods, that sucked. So tomorrow when I see my new girl. I'm going to start the comparison. let's see how drifting a car 50% heavier with a 25% high COG is. I have this feeling Miss ZL1 isn't going to willingly make me look like my 7 did. I'm gonna have to earn it with her. Also, top speed... got her up to about 172MPH (280KPH), before she tried to lift off on me. Canards were needed badly. Scary as hell when the front started swaying. That was instant foot off the throttle.

Probably a dumb question but is the Speedo mechanical or uses GPS?

As far as I know, it uses wheel speed sensors. The tune has wheel circumference adjustments that impact the displayed speed.

Wheel speed sensors are for ABS/Stabilitrack as far as I can see. The speedometer reading comes from the vehicle speed sensor, looking in the tune (using HP Tuners) that is the Speedo>Calibration>Sensor Calibration>VSS Tire Revs per parameter labeled 'Dist'.

Hmm, I thought these were the same, even the parameter name mentions tire revolutions per mile/km:

[ECM] 9003 - VSS Tire Revs per Distance: The number of tire revolutions per mile/kilometer.

Is there another VSS that is not driven off of wheel rotation?

Looks like the VSS is a different part than the wheel sensors. Checking in the tune Speedometer>Calibration>Hardware, the VSS Pulses per Rev is 36, while the Driven Pulse/Rev is 48 and the Non-Driven Pulse/Rev is also 48.

Ah-ha. I don't see the driven and non-driven pulse/revolution counters in mine, that's what I was missing. Thanks for the info .
