Are you hitting lock first then start? Do the cars lights blink in response?

Ok...then what happens? Does it start and stop? Not try to start at all?
Hard to troubleshoot without knowing the whole story

It is standard on all Camaro automatics since 2016 and not available on manuals. |

Car won't remote start if the hood isn't fully closed and latched, is that a possibility?

I have to hit my remote start button after I hit the lock button 2-3 times and hold it down before it'll start. My car has always been a disrespectful bastard with key fobs...

...but holding it down is the normal procedure. Press lock, lights blink, then hold engine start down until lights blink again, then you can release the engine start button, the car should crank within a second. Works 100% of the time for me, and we have the same software (most likely).

Your key fob, how many buttons does it have? I had to tell my car lot I would not buy without a fob with the remote start. The gave me one fob without the remote start till I told them that. Easier to get another fob the bot make a sell. You could be in the same situation.

Could be like Drew said with having the wrong fob, the conditions of auto start I believe are if there’s a check engine light or warning the car can detect then remote start is disabled until that light has been addressed

Update I found out the issue today. My check engine light was on and there was an issue with the emission controls. According to the manual that will disable the auto start feature.
Took it to the dealer and found out one of the cats are bad. |
