1150hp SVE Yenko uses stock airbox?
Noticed this on FB today. SVE's 1150hp Yenko package uses the stock airbox with some kind of aftermarket elbow. Assuming that's a 103mm TB on there from the looks of it.
Does anybody know anything about the elbows they're using and if they are modifying the airbox in any way? Its telling, however, that they aren't slapping on a full aftermarket CAI.

I think the only thing it's telling me is that they are missing out on some ponies at that power level.

Stock airbox is keeping the fines out of my engine. Ive seen bores ruined by KN style filters and never used another.
Not saying they dont help, but they probably keep the stock airbox for warranty reasons. Dirt kills engines |

Buddy of mine has one I saw yesterday. Yes it has the stock airbox also.

Whatever hp you gain with K&N or similar you will loose double that soon by letting dirt and dust grind the Cylinder walls and valve seats.

Agree totally. These after-market air filters do not filter as well as oem style paper filters. Plenty of tests prove this. I live in a dusty area and there is no way I'd put a K&N or similar style air filter on my car. I'd rather lose the 2 hp gain, if that, and maintain my engines longevity since I plan to keep my car for the long-term.

You're saying these aftermarket filters are just as good at filtering air as oem paper? Cause that's BS and their are plenty of lab tests to prove it. I come from racing dirt bikes and ATVs. There is a reason K&N gauze style filters are known to destroy engines in extremely dusty environments. Oiled foam is one thing, but we are not talking about that. But you do whatever you want and I'll keep doing my thing.
