My 2018 camaro has been to the dealership numerous times, new torque converter, fluid flush, and then the latest TSB. I was finally able to resolve the shudder issue by trading it in last night, for a 2019, with a manual (always been a manual guy but I figured I would give an automatic a try... what a nightmare that was). I raced the hell out of that car and never lost to a manual, but I realized, I didn't buy the car to race, I bought it to enjoy it, and I wasn't enjoying it when the transmission was a constant worry.

I think alot of people buy vehicles without doing any extended research and really how do we know the A10 is any better longterm? It’s interesting how GM shortened their warranty at the same time they rolled out the A8. |

From what I've read, they really don't know what the actual cause of this problem. They are changing fluid types and replacing damaged torque converters, if the shudder is experienced. Yet some vehicles have it, and others don't. Or is it driving conditions that cause it, seems to be a mystery. I have a 2017 V6 A8, and see my basic warranty running out next year due to years not mileage. I assume this falls under engine and drivetrain so I'll get 2 additional years coverage. But scares "the you know what out of me" that if I keep the car I'll eventually see a big repair bill. Am I assessing this correctly?

GM has a few options IMHO.
1. Offer customers an replacement to the A10 (retrofit) 2. Offer customers a 7yr/100k powertrain warranty plus $500-$1000 GM accessory credit 3. buyback the vehicles.

Do you think this offer will only be for those involved in the class suite or will it be for everyone who owns the vehicle?

So GM had to offer every owner the option of money, or some other stuff I believe if you stayed on the class action lawsuit you could have had the buyback option.

Bought an aftermarket Torque converter when I installed everything else that was going to void the warranty... no more shudder !

If GM does anything that involves every owner, it would be an extended warranty on the TC and/or the transmission itself. Not the entire drivetrain. That is typical in my experience.
That would be nice, but really, just hoping the dang new fluid really is the fix, or at least helps a lot. (not confident in that though)
