Install a SC coolant reservoir and never worry about it again.

That is a great idea, but it's not the same system.

What do I want to buy for coolant? I'll pick some up on the way home from work, just so I have some.

This thread is about the main engine coolant, not the supercharger loop. But your suggestion is a good one for the SC coolant, as Chevy did us no favors there!

The easy way is to drop $10 for a bottle of DEX-COOL 50/50 premix.

Thanks to the op. Didn't realize mine was low. To reservoir was below cold line and bottom tank was bone dry with cold motor in my garage. Bottom tank should be half full and top tank full when cold, yes?

I bought some Prestone full strength and a gallon of distilled water. Diluted to approximately 60/40 water/coolant mix.

I'm too lazy for that and I use so little that it gets old before its used up - so I buy Prestone 50\50 premix.

This is a great post!
I picked my car up a week ago.
I currently only have 138 miles on it.
Top is full.
Bottom is bone dry. (see photos)
Probably as shipped from the factory.
I'm thinking simply fill it myself but then again, I can take it to the dealer so it can be documented and perhaps GM could keep an eye on this factory fill issue.
I will keep a watchfull eye on this.
Thanks,
Tyrolblue67
