Tachometer not working

Hello all,

My Tachometer stopped working last night. The needle will go an initial spin while starting the engine, like other dials, but will not raise after that, will stay at 0 RPM. all other gauges in the cluster work fine.

Any thoughts or has anybody faced similar issues?

My car is a 2016 2.0T MT, it is still under warranty and I have an appointment with the dealership on Monday.

Would like to know if this is common or mine is one odd case.

Thanks,

I have noticed mine bouncing around every now and again. I have also noticed the oil pressure gauge do the same thing once in a while on cold start. Wonder if mine is going to stop working too.....

Most likely the dealer will disconnect the battery, so as to reset everything.

Mine too - brand new 2019

On drive home from work my tach stopped working. Tried several restarts with no luck. Gauge sweep on startup works fine then it returns to zero and just sits there. Brand new 2019 2LT 1LE V6 with 630 miles on the odometer. Will check fuses and hope it's a fluke. Don't want my dash torn apart and put back together this early in the life of my car. I'll be hearing dash rattles for the rest of my ownership - be they deal of imaginary.

I had this happen a couple times. They reset it and then tried a reflash. It hasn’t happened in a while but I know they didn’t fix it permanently

Dude you have hypo tach syndrome and I currently have hyper tach syndrome. I can be sitting at a red light with my foot on the brake and it starts bouncing around 3k - to 5k - sometimes on the freeway let off the gas and get the tach bounces to 7k like a dang ping pong ball. The told me no tsb and start with replacing the batter ground cable because the resistance was out of spec and they didn’t even know if that would fix it. I said the cluster has no other issues and both the hud and tach reflect the same bouncing value. Let me know as well....where does it read from on both the analog cluster tach and digital hud tach because it has nothing to actually do with engine rpm. Craziness

My tach completely stop to work. Before i start the engine, gauges testing without any issue, but after i start engine, RPM gauge is dead. Dealer can't find a reason, any ideas?
