A8 vs A10 SS trans
So I had the A8 w all the shudder problems so I gave up and got a 19 SS A10. The A10 most definitely is a much smoother trans but the odd thing is it doesn’t feel as torquey as my A8 did. Honestly feels a lot slower out the gate. Anyone else notice this. My A8 would pull hard and almost jerk you back in your seat. It was a jerky trans in general. I’ve only got 250 miles on the A10 so I haven’t really gotten on it at all yet but coming off a red light it really feels like a dog if you don’t mash the pedal.
Curious if anyone else noticed this who’s made the switch? |

It could be that the transmission needs to be broken in and learn your driving style.

You're totally right about the jerkiness

well, I went from a 2016 ss a8 to a 2017 ZL1 a10.....wow. I will never go back. The A10 is amazing in the ZL1. I can't speak for it in the SS or RS....?

It could be the trans gear ratios and the rear gear ratios along with the factory tuning. You're spreadi everything out from 8 gears to 10 gears also so you should expect that it would have a different feel. However there was little to no change in the quarter mile times after switching from A8 to A10. So the A8 just might feel torquier off the line.

Test drove a few A8 SS. My A10 feels just as fast. Just smoother. I absolutely love it.

Test drove A8 and A10. The real difference you'll feel is when you shift into 3rd and 4th. A10 FTW

It's probably just because it's smoother

Earlier today I test drove a 2SS with A10 and really not sure if I like it or not. It definitely felt strange like described. The '17 SS I had with the A8 did feel different from the '19 SS/A10. I was trying to accelerate and it wasn't as responsive as I thought it would be. It also may be that it had not been driven for a while because it did feel better towards the end of the test drive. I still have to decide what I really want....a 2SS/A10 or 1SS/1LE.

Right, I believe the 10 speeds are not the same in the ZL1 vs SS.

So I just got the A10 transmission in my new SS ..I also have 19 mustang GT with the A10 ...they do not feel the same at all ..the A10 is more jerky in low gears in the mustang and the Camaro seems more smoother . Just my first impressions so far.
