Sorry, but having bought the V8, I'm going to have to recommend the V8. It's an outrageous engine that pays dividends in maniacal laughter every time you step on the gas. The sheer delight in raw horsepower overrides anything sensible you might say. That's how the male brain works.

My wife is the one who outright told the Chevy salesrep that I would be buying the 2SS/RS. I actually considered the V6 for a few moments. Thank God she made me come to my senses! You buy a muscle car for the thrill and enjoyment of the ride. Practicality has its merits, but come on... it's a freaking awesome machine!!!

Honestly, if the decision comes to getting an SS or surviving.

My honest answer would be that you should save the money right now and get the car he wants a few months down the road.
