Lift installed
Well I have to say I am happy with the MaxJax lift so far. Installation was pretty straight forward. Although I didnt use teflon tape, I replaced it with rector pipe sealant. No leaks and I feel pretty confident. Using my old sonoma to test it, and boy is that frame alot thinner than I thought. Thats the smallest frame I can lift on this but at least I am really stress testing it good. Hopefully I dont hear a loud bang in the next few hours.
The pic with my car was just test fitting to find the optimal spots for the lift. The end is result is slightly wider than that. Please forgive the mess I dont keep as clean a garage as some I see on here but I try.

Never saw shorties like that, pretty cool and high enough for most needs. My only reservation is the full-size lifts have a cross beam that ties the top of the towers together, on these all the load is on the floor fasteners, looks like it anyway from the pic.

Eesh, be careful with the arms that close together with the truck lifted. A couple tires taken off the rear and you just may nose dive off

Yea, didn't plan on having to put them so close together but the frame on the truck is really far under the body. That's the thinnest car it can lift. There was literally no more length. I wanted to stress test it though so if it will hold straight out like that it will hold with wider cars much easier. Leaving it on there for a few hours and taking it down. Not doing any work on it like that. It's basically a hazard right now and no one's allowed near it. Once I pull it down that truck is never going that high again.

Good to hear!! I would probably invest in 4 high lift jack stands for when you have the truck up.

Those are made to be removable, correct? If so, could you not have another mounting location for one post to be closer to the other to be able to lift the truck safely. How are they bolted to the floor, lags?

You put sleeve anchors about 5 inches into the floor and mount it to them. Obviously they are pretty stout.

Yea, I would never work on anything like that, it was just the only crap car I had access to that I wouldn't mind if it got dropped. Just wanted to test he lift and feel comfortable that it wont fall on me when I'm under it with my car lifted tomorrow.

Not gonna lie. I came here expecting to see a lifted 6th gen Camaro. There is one in Blissfield about a half hour north of Toledo (not 6th gen) that is lifted with super swampers on it that the guy goes mudding with LOL.

It looks like it would work well for the Camaro but man I would not get under that truck. The truck is just to long for it.
