Tire question for stock tune ZL1/SS M6 bog experts!

Could one run a drag pack with these tires and launch with any success on a lightly modded ZL1? I only have basic intake/exhaust at this point and am maintaining the stock tune for warranty reasons for the time being.

I would go with a radial instead of a bias-ply

You have a 26" tall radial version correct?

Basically looking for input from people WITHOUT a tune, with an M6, this specific bias-ply tire, and full torque management in place.

I do have a 26” Tall tire and even though I’m not a ZL1, I’m tuned making decent power. If I launch at less than 3,500 I bog dead on my face at the track so hopefully you can try and translate than into the kind of power you’re making.

I don’t know how the torque management is on the ZL1 but assume it’s the same as the manual SS. Which on stock Tune was as terrible as it gets

Not all, but many will. Racestars, Forgestars, Welds, etc.

I think the Weld Racing RT-S S71 17"x5" will fit on the front of a SS with Brembo brakes

Not on a ZL1. But that’s the point of this particular thread.

Carlyle has a couple weld racing kits that are pricey but look killer. And it looks like the 17 is used on the back of a ZL1

Totally.

But the main question was will this much tire cause TOO much bogging on a stock tune M6?

Use a tire calculator, If the tire is bigger than OEM my only suggestion will be yes it’ll bog at a prepped track on a torque managed stock tune.

Yes you can MAKE that 28” tall tire work

WRONG!
The thread is titled: "Tire question for stock tune ZL1/SS M6 bog experts!"
See the "SS" in the title, that should give you a clue....
